Just watched "The Many Saints of Newark" the other day. He was quite good in that.
Too bad he got typecast after being so iconic in Goodfellas.
If you want to see him do something totally different, he made a movie with Whoopie Goldberg called Corrina, Corrina. It's one of those feel-good 90's dramedies. It's not great but the most outside his comfort zone Liotta got, I think.
I think it's underrated how funny he was, btw. Stuff like Operation Dumbo Drop or Heartbreakers... both are terrible movies which didn't help his case to get more of those kinds of parts but I think if he was pretty good in them.
How dare you call Heartbreakers terrible! That's Jennifer Love Hewitt in top form.
It wasn't terrible at all. There were a lot of funny scenes in Heartbreakers. Gene Hackman was funny too and the scenery was nice.
I remember seeing Liotta in his first big film "Something Wild" and he was scary as hell. Very underrated actor.
I'm glad to know there are Heartbreakers defenders on this board.
