I’m sure there will still be plenty of board movement before this year’s draft…but in saying that, from what I’ve seen and read, there isn’t a true ‘superstar’ in the 2022 draft.

IMO, Chet Holmgren has the highest upside but it could be very dependent on where he lands and how much patience the team has in letting him develop and add size.

The real prize is in 2023 when Victor Wembanyama becomes draft eligible. He looks like the best prospect since Kevin Durant.

TyTy Washington greatly outplayed Kennedy Chandler last weekend. I seriously doubt any of the major mocks will rank them in that order.

I didn’t look much at this, but you’re dead wrong at Jalen Duren.  He’s a franchise center.

I agree and think that Wembanyama and probably Scoot Henderson would both be the #1 picks in this draft if they where eligible because of their star potential.

While this class lacks a project-able Star it does have a few players who can be higher end allstars. Smith in particular really intrigues me as a 6'10 19 year old freshamn per 36 he is taking 6.7 3s per game and hitting on 44% to compare that Seth Curry as a almost 23 year old senior took 6.9 at 44% and Buddy Hield as a 23.5 yr old 8.9 attempts at 45%. Jabari also is shooting almost 80% from FT. His college stats match up really well when compared to elite shooters.

Ive watch Chandler and he looks like a pro and a player who likely goes in the 1st round, strangely enough I haven't watch Washington yet but it sounds like he is trending up on major boards.

Like I said at the start of my post I like my top 6 and after that just listed players I believe should go in the first round but haven't really given much thought yet to my 7-30 rankings.

Duren is another player I really want to learn more about. On the surface its tough to project a non shooting big in the top ten of a class. In the last 6 drafts only 4 bigs who averaged less then 1 3 per 36minutes went in the top 10 (Wiseman, Okongwu, Hayes, and Poeltl). The the only memphis game I have watched this season the guard play was so horrible that Duren didnt really stand out. What I am really interested in is his defensive potential, some have gone as fare to say he is as capable on the perimeter as Bam. This at his size and length instantly makes him worthy of a top ten pick.

Ty Washington would fit nicely alongside Tatum & Brown.. Halliburton type of player who I compare him to
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I looked at 2022 draft prospects back on New Year’s Day, and immediately decided there were too many Jabari, Jalen and Jaden to keep track of.

I will be sure to accept the landscape again during Sweet 16, but it’s too early, for me at least, to be trying to figure out if Chet is projecting as Porzingis or Bol Bol. Or if Jabari is Jaysun and Jaden is Jaylen…

Eason from LSU by way of Cincinnati is a very interesting defensive prospect  ranked in the area where the Cs are likely to pick. Good size/length (6-8 ish) and athleticism, good defender now. Not a great 3pt shooter but shoots 75% from the line so that could develop.

I agree

Also the last LSU game I watched I came away really impressed with his teammate Darius Day, he is a 6'7 245lb 7'wingspan forward who defended the perimeter well and looks like a 2nd round pick who could stick in the league.

If I am picking top 3, Banchero would be my guy.

Ty Ty moved up to 7 on Bleacher Report. I would not be surprised to see him going top 7 in the draft. He'd be a great fit with us. Sadly we lack the draft capital to get him.
