It’s only one game but it’s looking like it may not have been a great move to not resign a reliable 3rd scoring option… even funnier that Fournier is the one that killed them in the end.

Can only hope somebody else steps up or this is going to get ugly. Smart/Schroder are not reliable enough.

Yeah, can easily see that coming back to haunt us. Fournier was a really solid player who struggled as the 2nd option here. We cheaped out (again)

Horford is a reliable 3rd scoring option. Team desperately needs his shooting.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

It was a very bad move and many of us complained. Others harped on his defense which frankly I never thought was so bad.

He's fairly reliable, but he's also 35 and could decline imminently.

fournier is an excellent spot-up shooter who didn’t fit well into our offense. the current c’s don’t move the ball well enough to leverage a guy like fournier (and why PP won’t reach his potential here). sadly, it’s more of an indictment of our offense than fournier as a player.

add that to the fact that we weren't really looking to bring Al back, it was more getting rid of Kemba.
Which I think was a good move.  But Al was just the player coming back to us.  Al will help for sure.
But we really need Timelord to make a leap this year.  That is how we will become a more legit playoff team.

So could Lebron, CP3, Melo, Lowry, Tucker who are all older than Horford.

Is it sustainable? I don't know. He was pretty terrible during the Nets series too.

Two things on this:

1) We made Fournier look really good by going under about 5 screens in a row for him.  Credit to him for making the wide open 3s, but man, I don’t understand that.  Know your opponent, especially when he was your teammate 5 months ago.

2) We effectively chose between Richardson and Schröder over Fournier.  Let’s maybe let Richardson play a game?

It was a great game with both teams making crazy shots. The Celtics never gave up when it looked to be doubt, with games like that just tip the hat and move on. It could've been much worse, they could lose like the Lakers did last night.

Yes, we should have kept him.  He’s on a reasonable contract, and he can play.  He’s fairly one dimensional, but we could really use that one dimension.
