  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Tatum scoreless in the second half.

Doing his invisible man act.
Was that his fault though. The hottest player in the game, they went to him twice early, where he missed both on poor shot selection, and they never went to him again.

He went scoreless.

A rebound or tip, a hard cut, some more movement.

He fades in and out of games for stretches it's not just a one game thing it's a pattern.

When Kyrie doesn't play I'm more confident in our chances against 80% of the league.

It's sad.

What the heck happened with Brown not playing?

It could be a number reasons.

But one thing's for sure, Celts have too many players of the same kind.

That will not happen again next season when the Celts trade for AD.

If anything with Kyrie out, there are a WHOLE lot more guard minutes to go around.
It makes zero sense.

Smart, Rozier, and Hayward, that's 3 guards right there.

The 4th guard usually ends up getting the fewest minutes.

Lol, Hayward doesn't play guard...I wouldn't mind if he did, but he doesn't.

Apparently that's what's happening.

Hayward came in with 4:33 left in the 4th.
He replaced Rozier.
Celts ended the game with Horford, Morris, Tatum, Hayward, and Smart.

Not going to be a Celtic problem next season.

Tatum's going to the Pels.

If you remove it from context and act like the team hasn't been dysfunctional with Kyrie this season sure.

I like context.

What the heck happened with Brown not playing?

That is the mystery of the game.  17 min is not a good way to take advantage of Brown, he needs more minutes.

Are they trying to keep him out of a trade?

Are NBA teams just all a bunch of dummies?  They can't look up the other box scores?
I hope we are trying to keep him out of the trade for Davis, but what about the rest of the last 4 months of Browns great play, does that just get forgotten about?  I mean Brad forgets about it evidently...

I didn't say it was a good strategy. I just don't understand why Brown doesn't play more.

I wasn't saying you thought it was good or bad, sorry if that was harsh.
I meant I just don't think that is what is going on.  Pels have 3 years of film on Jaylen, they will know if they want him or not.

The Celtics went on a 16-game win streak with Kyrie playing.

Point invalid.

Brown punished for failure to pick up Sexton at end of quarter score.

I was agreeing with you that anyone can see Jaylen is a really good player even if you try to hide him on the bench.

well I admit, I don't know much about this team anymore.  maybe he is a guard now? lol

if it allows us to keep Jaylen and Smart, just bench them for the rest of the year then :)

It's just a case of Brad prefers Hayward over Brown.

Even when Jaylen was a rookie, Brad didn't play him a lot even when Jaylen was the #3 pick.

I'm sure he does, and I don't completely blame him for that given how good Hayward has shown he can be (not so much this year) and their history. But its not really brown vs Hayward, its Brown vs Rozier and/or Morris. We have enough versatility that we could completely removed either guy form the rotation and I honestly think we might get better. Remove Rozier, plug in Brown, let Smart/Hayward take Rozier ball handing responbility. or even Tatum/Brown a little. Remove Morris, play brown. Ya you are smaller and lose some rebounding but in every other way you get better including defense which Morris has been low key bad at this season.

Then Rozier would've played like two minutes. Horford literally had to shove Rozier at a Cavs player in the 4th quarter.

Let's all dont forget that the Celtics were playing with a "must-win" mentality after dropping 4 straight.

Against the Cleveland Cavaliers of all teams. Post-Lebron era.
