I don’t know if it was mentioned but Pritchard looked like an NBA player in limited minutes last night. I know he will most likely only see garbage time when Kemba gets back. Teague adds a high level of shooting and scoring off the bench. It’s nice to see that we have some end of rotation players that can actually play. PP doesn’t look like he’s afraid of anything. Tough kid.

I agree.  Tom Westerholm on his podcast Ginotime this morning made fun of him, said he didn't look like he had a clue, but think he was off base. TP. I think he is just trying to cover up for the fact that he had PP rated so low in his mock draft.

Considering it was his 1st game and a really big game like this, I think he did very well. Payton is a much better defender than I thought and seems to know where to be on the court. If he had hit that second 3 there would’ve been raves about him today. He got put into the big moment and didn’t look lost or afraid at all.

I loved Pritchard when his man got close to Giannis, while Giannis had ball, getting under Giannis, swiping at the ball and disrupting The Freak trying to create for himself.

Pritchard will be 10-11th in the rotation and get plenty of minutes for a rookie on a contender with Kemba losing 30 games or so and plenty of bad teams we'll be seeing after the early season mountain we have to climb. He already got 13 minutes in a tight and big game against the team favored to win the EC in his first pro game.

Pritchard had one bad play last night: a possession where he dribbled aimlessly for 15 seconds and then hoisted a piece of garbage at the end of the clock.

Aside from that play, he defended the way I want him to defend and took the shots he needs to take.  If that is how he plays, he’ll be a good player for us.

Agreed, but hopefully that was a learning experience for Payton.

I may be misremembering this play but there was one were Pritchard was on Giannis and I think it was TIMELORD came to help and they trapped Giannis on the side and The Freak had to grad a hand full of TIMELORD’s shirt to get out of it. Another one of the many no calls on “The Star”

indisputable proof that refs hate celtics

With a review as they did on this play, I assume the refs are able to overturn the call - is that correct?
If so, not only did they make the wrong call in real time, the correct call was missed by whoever reviews the play.  That seems pretty bad to me.

Watching and reading about the game on ESPN, Giannis and Tatum are the players talked about ad nauseum. Brown, the best player on the floor on either team last night is barely mentioned in print and not mentioned in highlights.
It’s not just ESPN. The Celtics very own social media team gabe player of the game to Tatum, bafflingly.

Sooo... the garbage officials going to see any repercussions? Imagine any of us normal people making a blunder of that magnitude and facing no repercussions.

The favoritism from the officials in favor of players and teams being promoted by the league is the game’s biggest problem.  See Tim Donaghy’s statements about it. They ring true.

Pretty interesting L2M report from the NBA: Tristan Thompson should not have been whistled for a foul on the final play, and Daniel Theis should have been called for a lane violation on Giannis’ second FT.

Awful call, especially at the end of a game, and the Theis missed violation doesn't happen without it.

A lot of the TV pundits said so too.
