Hield proved to JB he is the better player... For now.

Have no idea why JB played with a lot of hesitation.. And his drives fell short all the time.

Last playy should have rode Tatum as he had the hot hand.

Now we face a well rested Suns team.. Could be our first back to back loss of the season.

I'm okay with Hield being better - he's 27 in a month!

optimistic to say, JB is 4 years away from 27 and hopefully by then he's a 25/8/5 player? :)

That last shot by Smart was a great look and as close as it gets to falling down without going in. Can't fault anyone for that play call.

How do they possibly replay that “foul” by Smart and stick with the call. That was a tie up plain and simple.

Also, I think rather than pulling it out after the offensive rebound Smart’s only option was to call a timeout. There were defenders on
all sides of him. Hard to pull it out. Might even be hard to signal a timeout without getting tied up. Although those p----poor refs would’ve called a foul. Argh!

not on board with Hield being considered the better player.  better shooter, yes.  better defender and rebounder, no.  better driving to the basket, no.

This.  At some point you just have to throw your hands up and admit Hield was the pick in 2016.  He was unguardable tonight and had his way with every Celtic from the opening buzzer to the end when he made the game winner.  I love JB, but Hield can singlehandedly win games.

watched on tape delay.  takeaways from today:
- thought the GSW game would wake this team up in terms of them realizing they can't keep sleepwalking through the beginning of games and expect to win.  disappointed with how they started the game and it came back to bite them in the butt when they let Sac shooters get confidence.
- heartbreaking last shot by Smart was a good take but he was horrific shooting tonight.  would have preferred it going to anyone else for that shot.
- finally a positive showing by Semi tonight.
- Kanter had his moments but Sac was taking advantage of his D.  C's really a dependable defensive big to go with Theis if they're going to make a real run in the playoffs this year.  not sure Timelord will be that guy by then.

I'll take Brown.  Hield was still in college at the age Brown is now.

Didn't catch the game - anyone wanna give me a quick rundown? (And why we're trading Smart?) ;D

Buddy Hield us of our winning streak by going off for 35 points.

Smart missed a shot at the buzzer, but it was close.

Refs seemed to favor SAC.
Guys like Hield always seem to torch us. Shame Smart took so many shots - not his role.

Yeah but in credit to Smart he has been hot lately...I firmly believed it was going in.

His play this season has been HUGE for us so I'm not blaming him.
He has been hot recently, but him taking 16 shots is inexcusable. He should quite literally never be our FGA leader, even if it is tied with someone else.

Not his role at all

the worst of the shots was the rebound he missed when he could have held the ball for a foul. He fell for the moment because he was so close to the basket. if that rebound was any further away from the basket folks would question is knowledge of the score and clock.

Fun 4th.  Hield can get hot with the best of em.  Hate to take the loss, but it was entertaining.
Yup

Can't win it all

But one thing I don't like is the two man rotation of Theis and Kanter

especially Kanter is a black hole on defense

Much prefer Robert Williams and Grant Williams

if anything Kanter should be playing 5 mins per game and then on occasion playing a larger role against certain matchups

This seems like a bizarre take. Jaylen averages more points on much better efficiency, averages more rebounds and assists (also marginally better on steals/blocks), is a vastly better defender, and producing these numbers on a much better team. Oh yeah, Hield is also about to turn 27.

I guess Buddy is shooting the 3 slightly better and has Jaylen on FTs, but that's it. I can't imagine there is a gm in the league that would take Buddy over Jaylen.
