Wonder if they would do humphries and Wallace for amare... Hump is expiring. If amare can't contribute due to injury then they get some versatility, an expiring deal, and we get out of Wallace's deal which is a year longer then stats.

The Knicks have traded away their 2014 and 2016 first-round picks and every second-round pick through 2017.  They have nothing to offer that makes this sort of trade worthwhile.

Taking on extra salary next year of 14 million just to dump one year of Wallace at 10.

No thanks, ties up next year too much.

I see no reason to let the Knicks free themselves of Amare's albatross contract. Until that contract expires, it's going to prevent the Knicks from assembling a roster that can contend. Just handcuffs them.

It would be getting away from that extra year of Wallace. He's be a good size expiring deal next year but the main reason is to rid ourselves of Wallace's deal. After thinking about I think I agree with Faf tho.

I proposed this trade over the summer in which we also sent them Bass.  It made the financial hit of Amare's deal a little smaller next season, about $6.5 million net, and cleared up Wallace's salary for the 2014 offseason.  I'd personally want a pick back if we're including Bass, but I'd have no problem if that pick came in 2019 or 2020 -- we have enough picks through 2018 as it is.

I do think Rondo-Amar'e would be a great combo for the 15 minutes of 40 games that Amar'e could play.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
If we're getting a long, huge contract then give me David Lee instead. I might throw in a pick. And with GSW's sort of weak depth, they may consider.

Pass on Amare. I don't think he's going to get to even 80% of who he was, ever.

David Lee would be great with Rondo on the pick and roll/pop. Defense though, well, he's better than Amar'e. But hey, Double-Double every night.

The better trade is Wallace, Bass, Lee for Amare.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

And let's add Steve Nash to go with Amare while we are at it.

We just unloaded our breakable s .

Why more.

I think you should add bad to the subject line.

Who wants a guy with bad knees?   Not me, not to mention that NYC laughs and hangs up the phone.

actually I think the Knicks would do that trade.  Saves them a ton of money next year and gets them two usable players for one non-usable player.

I would add Lee to this deal and take back Prigioni to make $$ word. This would save the Cs 5mill this year to make up for having to pay Amare next year. (im not sure how his early termination works, but I think it involves a pricy buyout)

The knicks are not playing great right not and Humphries and Wallace may actually help them get back to winning games.

Yeah the only reason to hesitate would be if couldn't set up for max cap room to add to Melo which is their current plan once Amar'e expires.
