I thought it a bit odd too. 

Usually the Knicks and the Bulls change the uni's too, or did I miss it?

The NBA (Stern) does not care for the luck of the Shamrock, and is afraid of the Leprechaun.  However,  Celtics are quite capable of  making their own luck on any day.
