The above article talks about the T-Wolves need for a quality SG.

If Courtney Lee fits the mold of what they are looking for then I could see them as a potential trading partner in the off-season particularly on draft day. (Nothing against Lee I just think this off-season the SG rotation needs to be figured out and talent needs to be consolidated.)

Maybe use Lee + the 16th to move up?

Trade Lee for the 26th?

Trade Lee for Derrick Williams? (then look to move bass)

That'd be a good trade, I'm sure they'd lottery protect it but they're a playoff team if the injury bug doesn't prove chronic.

Where is TA coming from? Are you saying play PP at PF? What about Rondo?

Tony is a FA at the end of this season.

I don't think he fits with what I'd like to see from the C's going forward though.

I don't think the Wolves give up there 2014 pick even if protected. However having 2 picks in 2013 the Cs could pry there 26th pick from them. (remember Cs traded a early 2nd for Lee, this pick hold similar value to a late first do to 2nd rounders contracts.)

Having pick #16 and #26 in this draft could yield two solid future prospects example
Giannis Adetokuobo or Glenn Robinson at 16
issac Austin or Steve Adams at 26

If Pierce and KG stick around for another year or two, AND we trade Bradley, then maybe signing TA would make some sense. Otherwise it's a bad move.

I would trade Lee for the 26th pick. I think the T-wolves would do that trade as well.

I think the most likely trading partner for the C's this off season for picks is OKC. The Thunder are a tiny market team with a limited revenue stream. They are  at $67 million in salary with another $20 million or so in cap holds which includes their 2 draft picks in the first round.

They are also in tax land which means they have only a $3.25 million, 3 year MLE to offer a free agent and can not do a sign and trade where players come into the team.

They need to resign Kevin Martin and might have to amnesty Kendrick Perkins to get some control of their finances. Every dollar they pay rookies will be mutliplied by at least a factor of 2 because of the tax they would have to pay them.

I can see OKC selling off or trading their picks this year. My guess is the later pick could be traded for a high second this year or a first in the future. My guess is the Toronto pick could also be moved for money and a future pick.

What else would the Wolves send back to make salaries match? Brandon Roy? J.J. Barea? Luke Ridnour?

interesting take on the OKC situation.  If the pick can be bought and packaged with ours to move up for a better player, great.

I wouldn't mind moving Lee/Bradley/JET/Crawford/Williams either for a first rounder in the next few years.  Need to consolidate the 2-guard spot for a better player that's much more consistent than the bunch we have now.

My guess is the Toronto pick could also be moved for money and a future pick.

A future pick from a probable lottery team maybe. I really don't see them moving that pick for anything less. Depending on where their lotto pick ends up (imagine if they were in line for McLemore, Smart, or Olapido), this could address a real long-term issue. Heck, even if they were in line for a Cody Zeller, they could amnesty Perkins, and run with an entirely different team.

I think its way more likely they move Jeremy Lamb than the Toronto pick.

I find it hard to believe that OKC just trades out to save $$. They seem like to well run of a franchise for that.
