The more telling part of it is his teammates did not list him.  Thornton and Young both listed Kobe.  Turner listed pre-broken leg George.  Smart said it was up for grabs.

Bc they are not delusional. If we replaced Rondo with one of Durant,  Lebron, Wall, Parker and several other better players we would not have the record we have today.

Wall and Parker may have added a couple more wins but we still wouldn't be a playoff team. Obviously agreed about LBJ and KD.

I don't know Rajon Rondo personally, but every fiber of my being is convinced that Rondo has a VERY dry and pretty solid sense of humor.  It appears in almost every interview.  Sometimes there may be some emotion that underlies the dryness and the sarcasm, but he is very often just being "funny".

This one is really too obvious.  Tri as you may Triboy to make this a bad Rondo thing -- I think you know full well he was joking.  This was obvious false athlete bravado, said with a wink (whether he winked or not).

I think this is pretty spot on, also.  Nailed it with the first paragraph.

Exactly. Triboy, your reading of personality, humor, sarcasm and tone leave a lot to be desired. Either that or your misguided animus is strong enough to willfully distort the obvious to make a meager point. Neither leads to your thread being taken seriously in any regard, as much as you may wish.

In Triboy's defense, Rondo has made similar comments before.

Summer of 2012:

Quote
Rondo said he didn't "choose that I wanted to be a leader or not. I must be one for my team," and he believes he takes a back seat to no one.

"I have matured, and my game also. I think I will be one of the best playmakers in the league," he said. "I think that I am the best point guard in the league."

It's not like he said the best players were Lebron, Durant, and Kobe.

Well, he is.

So is Phil Pressey, Robert Sacre, and Anthony Bennett

(That league, of course, is the NBA)
I'm bitter.

Distributing TPs to the guys who accept the possibility that RR might actually have a sense humour rather than being a flat arrogant idiot (apart from shooting 15% from FT)

Well for one thing, LeBron's in a league of his own—sorry, KD.
