Fringe NBA players aren't our salvation. The sad truth is that Bass is a better player than both of them.

Sure doesn't look like it.
But its true. Bass is a nba rotation level player, Randolph/White couldn't even get a minimum contract at the start of the season.

The way Bass has been playing, he would not get a minimum contract either if he was a free agent.

This isn't true. Bass is shooting around the same percentage as last year, rebounding the same, and overall playing a similar level of defense.

He's not shooting as much though, and that's a problem he has to provide scoring with his skillset.

Brandon, is that you???  ;)

Bass' play is depressing. Need more scoring from him.

I have no belief in his ability to improve as a defender or rebounder (he is what he is) but at least he used to be a good bench scorer. He got around 15 points per 36 minutes for 4-5 years. His scoring is down a third per minute (10 points per 36 minutes) this season. Gotta get him scoring again.

That bloody contract. Going to be so difficult to trade. Negative trade value.

Trading baskets just isn't going to cut it right now.

The perimeter defense at the point of attack has been really weak tonight.

No interior defense to help them out. They needed a super-game and they didn't bring it. Courtney Lee would have been of great help tonight.

We used to  get him a ton of pick and pop shots every game and he killed on them. He shot poorly to start the season and since then he just hasn't been aggressive with his shot, nor has the team continued to work those looks for him.

Now with Rondo gone, there are far less chances for that anyways though....

All that is going to happen with this lineup. Doc is a fool.

Team just looks tired both mentally and physically.

There is no way to win against your argument.  Since Bass got a chance in the NBA and a contract, therefore he is automatically better.

Do I think Randolph and White are saviors?  Of course not.  But are you really against even giving those two guys a chance when Bass is playing a scrub level?  They have nothing to lose except by more points.

There is no way to "win" against your argument either, as White/Randolph aren't going to suddenly be given 27 MPG to "prove" they're worse than Bass.

Backup big men are the backup QBs of Celticsblog. Even when they quit on the team.
