I just watched Bulls vs Grizzlies.

Bulls were down by 2 and needed a bucket to seal the win.

The commentators were all like "THIS IS MVP TIME NOW"

Rose charges to the basket, gets the layup and 1. Game over.

Makes me want to cry after watching Ray and KG brick 3s against the Bobcats.

thanks for the play by play. no one cares about the Bulls, the Celtics will smash them in the playoffs.

I have no problem with the shot Ray took...he was open and he is of course a 3 point specialist...the shot and the shooter were both the right choice, imo. It was just a bad miss.

Not sure how many seconds were left on the shot clock when KG took that 3...it was a desperate shot.

I hope you're right, but I'm losing faith fast.

This is the 2nd night in a row a winnable game has been lost because of horrible offensive execution by the starters.

My thoughts exactly.  I still have faith in this team.

you must have been standing on the Tobin then in the 2nd half of last season.

I'm one of the optimists, but I won't defend THIS play. It's tough to ignore because you always want your team with the eye of the tiger, but one can't deny they have a switch (look at last year and, really, their history together) and they realize their age. The last thing anyone wants to see is a Garnett hustle play in the paint to seal that game and all of a sudden BOOM! Freak accident and we have zero chance at redemption because of a 'meaningless regular season game'. It sucks that the talk of finishing strong continues, but there are politics in the NBA. All that matters is in the end when the rest of the team comes together and they enter the playoffs they play like champions and accept no substitution for 18. Only a title, especially if it's revenge against L.A., will vindicate this, uh, bad mojo.

We handed this game to the Cats tonight. They were awful, and we just one upped them in awfulness.  What an atrocious game.  I thought I would get rewarded for suffering through it. Boy was I wrong.  If we played the Bulls today, we would get demolished. Fortunately we have 10 more games to turn this puppy around....

The worst part about all of this...is that we were a championship team this season. We were ready to go all the way. Trophy? Probably had our name engraved in it already. No one could beat us in a 7 game series and everyone knew it..

And now this. If we sucked this bad all season I wouldn't even be upset right now. But the dismantling of this team and the fall from grace...is really just hard to swallow.

I need several drinks.

I feel the same way.  I know it sounds irrational -- Perk was injured, and wasn't a star -- but I really do think Danny's tinkering killed this team.

However, after last year's Finals run, I'm not closing the door on any possible ending to this season.  We could get swept in the first round, or we could cruise to the Finals.

I think it's just too easy to take this stance.  This convenient idea of "chemistry" being the magical ingredient doesn't really make sense, but it's easier to fall back on that then simply accepting that maybe this team is too old, or seriously flawed.  This team looked very good through the first third, first half or so of the season . . . and that was without Perk.  They looked good for a few games with Perk, but then he got injured so we didn't really get to see the ups and downs that would have inevitably come if Perk had stayed in a Celtic uniform.

What would the excuse be if the trade hadn't been made and the team were still going through these doldrums?  Because honestly, the things that have been killing us in these recent games aren't things that Perk would have helped with.  Unless Perk's presence would have made Rondo play quicker and smarter with a better shooting touch and thereby jumpstart the offense . . . then perhaps Perk really would have been the key.  I just don't buy it.

I saw none of this game, but I've seen most of Boston's games since the trade, and I have to agree with PosImpos, as well as with Marc Stein: the leaders of this team are still sulking over Perk, especially Rondo, and they're just not doing their jobs. It's that simple. Boston held Charlotte to 83 points tonight; you should never lose a game in which you held the opponent to 83 points, and especially not after leading most of the game. Perk's offense was as minuscule as Krstic's defense, and clearly Perk's defense wasn't the missing piece in tonight's game, or in most of the other pathetic losses this team's been through recently. Rondo's been a walking zombie. 5 more turnovers tonight. Really? 5??? and only, what, 4 assists? He needs to grow up. He's clearly the facilitator, and he's clearly the chief problem at present. In Boston's last game they had 85 points (and were down only 1) with 3 minutes left in the game. Two whole minutes later, they still had 85 points. THAT's the problem, not Perk.

There are major trust issues with this team.

Doc doesn't trust the second unit at all. The Big 4 are still mad at Doc and Ainge for their personnel moves (Murphy over Powe???). They're also mad at Doc for calling them soft when management clearly had a hand in making the team soft (again Murphy over Powe).

If these problems continue, we can consider the Celtics a team that was slowly dismantled. The minute we signed players who would be too injured to play in the playoffs, we created the potential for something like this to happen.

We are nothing compared to our championship year in terms of depth. If we are to have a chance next year, some of our players will have to take a pay cut. Also, someone needs to keep Danny in line. I don't see how Troy Murphy has helped the Celtics whatsoever.

Cometh the Playoffs, Cometh the Celtics.

I Hope..

Also, What kind of plays are we running lately. In the last 4 games I've noticed a similarity with our play's.

What I purpose to do is get Green to post on mis-match when he comes in for Pierce because he normally has a size advantage. AND post him up when he's at the 4 because he has a speed advantage.
