Jeff Green is top free agent priority to back up Pierce.

I'm a fan of the idea of the OJ Mayo trade. The Celtics need a guard who can create their own shot and shoot the ball well off the bench or starting, and I think he fits
I wanna end up with something like this:

PG: Rondo / VetMin / Moore
SG: Bradley / O.J. Mayo / Moore
SF: Pierce / Green / Kris Joseph
PF: KG / Sullinger / JJJ
C: Kaman / Stiemsma / Melo

FA Signing
Draft Pick
Trade

I agree with all of this.

1)Get a solid starting REBOUNDING/banger big if Bass is gone. ie: Humphries...basically try and upgrade the Bass situation as best we can. I dunno about Ilyasova because he'd want long term security and big $$$. In a perfect world I'd like similar scoring but a little dirtier around the rim than Bass. Oh I'd also like someone that shows up for the playoffs!

2)Take a splash on Mayo. I wouldn't pay 7 million but a one or two year deal at 5 million perhaps instead of Ray?
Get him out there running with Avery and Rondo and see what happens.

3)Resign Jeff Green and get him galloping with Rondo + Bradley.

I agree with both these points. KG is top priority. Ray Allen should be next to back up Bradley. If he goes, make an attempt at OJ Mayo. Jeff Green should be top priority to backup Pierce. Next priority is decide what to do with our bigs. Can't depend on Fab Melo or JJJ right away. I like Bass and would not mind giving him 5-6 mil a year(he declined the 4 mil player option). I still think a center is a big need compare to like a power forward. KG did really well at center but HATES it.

First of all, out of our own FA's, these are the ones I'd like to bring back most: KG, Green, Ray, Stiemsma, Pietrus.
Next thing, if getting O.J.Mayo in S&T for B.Bass is possible, just perfect. It'd kind of crazy to have a backcourt rotation of Rondo, Bradley, Allen, Mayo, Pietrus, but you were asking for a wishlist, so yeah, these are my wishes (:
Then sign a big with our MLE - my choices would include one of the bunch: Camby, J.Thompson, O.Asik. I'd prefer Hibbert, B.Lopez, McGee, but non could be had for 5m/y..

The rotation would be:
PG: Rondo, Mayo, Moore
SG: Bradley, Ray, Pietrus
SF: Pierce, Green, Joseph
PF: KG, Sully, JJJ
C: MLE, Steamer, Fab Melo
I think Moore could be moved for a future pick and Dooling brought back for depth, defence and locker room presence.

Get the band back together. Sign our own key free agents.

Rondo/Dooling/Moore
Bradley/Allen
Pierce/Green/Joseph-Pietrus
Bass/Sully/Wilcox/JJ
KG/Stiemsma/Melo

Can't rely on rooks just yet so you must keep Bass. If Sully looks the part, Bass is expendable. Grade Joseph as compared to Pietrus & decide who to keep from those two.  You have virtually the same squad that took it to 7 games vs the champs, & add Green, Wilcox, Bradley, Sullinger, & Melo to the missing equation.

#18 right around the corner.

Jason Terry would be great.

PG - Rondo, Terry, Dooling
SG - Bradley, Pietrus (or Ray Allen)
SF - Pierce, Jeff Green (or Pietrus)
PF - Sullinger, Bass
C  - Garnett, Stiemsma, Fab Melo

1.  Sign KG for $10 mil/1 year.
2.  Sign Roy Hibbert for $12 mil, max length contract.  (He's restricted, but I don't see the Pacers matching at that price.)
3.  Sign Jeff Green for $4 mil/1 year make good contract.
4.  Bring back Ray if he'll come back for the mid-level, or bring in some other shooter for mid-level.
5.  Bring back Steamer with his Qualifying Offer or less.
6.  Bring back Moore and Pietrus at the minimums.
7.  Find the best available backup point who will sign for the minimum.

If KG will come back for less than $10 mil, then great, but I don't think $10 mil is unreasonable.  Anything that KG leaves on the table can go to increasing Jeff Green's offer, which is a one-year deal so he can prove he's healthy and re-enter free agency next year for a bigger pay day.

I crunched the numbers as best I could given available salary data, and I think this works for fitting in under a $61 million cap that I've seen projected.

I also assumed that we aren't going to be able to S&T Bass to anywhere.  If we can, I like the Bass to Memphis for Mayo idea assuming that Mayo is offered and accepts his qualifying offer.  I don't want to S&T Bass for a long-term Mayo.

This gives us a lineup of:

Rondo/Moore/Mystery Vet
Bradley/Ray/Pietrus
Pierce/Green/Joseph (who should be in the D-League)
KG/Sullinger/JJJ
Hibbert/Steamer/Melo (also D-leaguing it)

Next year we would again be under the cap, albeit with no room for a max player without amnestying Pierce or Rondo, and have the ability to offer a higher MLE, as well as the bi-annual, since we would not be a tax-paying team this year.

not a bad line-up and fairly realistic.  The one thing I think would make this a more-likely scenario is swapping out Camby for Kaman-->cheaper and could probably be had for a 1-year deal (2 year max with a team option)

I think the pass on PJIII shows were committed to bringing Jeff Green Back.

Assuming we use exceptions to keep MP, Dooling & Steamer, I'd still like to see us bid for a legit BIG.  Not counting on the rooks just yet...

Mayo is FA. No need to trade S&T Bass for him. How about keep Bass and sign Mayo outright?

1). Kaman- Best center available, hopefully he'll be affordable
2). Humphries- The guy is a animal on the boards which was our Achilles heel
3). Gerald Green- we need bench scoring & athleticism badly & could be a key Rondo running mate
4). Josh Smith- would be #1 but trading is tough.

Of course KG & Jeff Green would be hopefully back in the fold before anything else transpires.

Except our own guys(KG, Ray, etc), I'd like to see Danny try these players:

Omer Asik - Strong rim protector, young and not too slow
Carl Landry - similar to Bass but has better offensive skills
Jason Terry - huge upgrade from dooling
OJ Mayo - I don't like him, but he's young and may become a much better player in the future
Darrell Arthur - ok, maybe not a good idea, but we never had a quick pf before, just interested to see what we can do with such a player, he's a RFA now, need a >3million offer.

I think we need a pf/c or a quick c, instead of a big slow c, Lamar Odom was a perfect fit, but he's heading to LA now...
don't really like Josh Smith's game, Humphries wants a big long contract, Kaman is slow and injury prone.

I'll be very happy with this roster:

Rondo, Terry
AB, Ray, Pietrus
Pierce, Green
Landry, Sullinger
KG, Asik

Besides KG and Jeff green, I want Jamal Crawford and probably Omer Asik. Really not big on OJ Mayo and his personality. Dont think he would fit in with our team.

I think Barbosa might be a nice cheap replacement instead of Mayo or Lou Williams, although I'd prefer the latter out of all three.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

I like Barbosa. That would work for me.
