  • takes.....MAKES!!!!
Al's court side manner has been very stoic (which I like) over his career.  In this year's playoff run he is showing a lot more emotion, at least for him anyway (which I also like).  I think he really, really wants to get his chip this spring (of course we all want this for the C's).

All players want to win a championship, and the closer they get the more they can smell it - and after a long career that is probably all that is going on with Big Al's sudden emotional enthusiasm.  Total speculation on my part, but there is a little piece of me that is wondering if he would really like to walk away on top.  There is a little voice inside me asking "Are we seeing the last and finest moment of Al Horford great career?"

Now 99 out of 100 players are coming back for that 26.5 million dollars - no question.  But is Al that rarest of rare that is really missing the wife and kids, and says "You know what?  I have enough, I have enough - I am going home."

So it is with this is mind that I am really soaking up and appreciating Mr Horford this spring.  Anyone else getting a similar vibe?

Well, according to Basketball Reference, not counting next season, Al has made over $243 million.  Not too shabby.  Still hard to see him walk away from another $26.5 M.

I will always appreciate Al Jefferson, without him we don’t get KG from Minnesota.  :)

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

My guess is Al comes back next year no matter what. He’s played so well this year and he seems to really like being around the team.

Better question is which target do we look at if he does walk?

Miles Turner?

Nice little $5 million increase in next year's guaranteed money for Al. You've earned it big guy. Now go get that other guarantee, your first world title and Celtic greatness, old man.

So happy for Horford. And we're definitely not reaching the Finals this season without him

Thinking Basketball just called Al - "Dominican Dirk Nowitzki", for shooting like 46% in the playoffs from 3.

I love how Dominican Dirk rolls off the tongue.
