Game 2 was must win and we responded. Now we have to do it again.
Game 3, the two players that hurt us the most were Smart and RWill. They were -11 when one or both were on the court. They were +9 when neither was on the court. Need to correct that, and I suspect they will.
Otherwise, I was not able to watch game 3 so I don't have much to offer in terms of adjustments. This is probably going to be more about how the teams respond to pressure more than Xs and Os.
Tatum was the player who hurt the team the most. Get away from the +/- stat and just re-watch the game. Tatum was woeful the whole game on both sides of the ball.
That is fair. The team did not play well with Tatum on the court either. The +/- stats reveal this as well. I can't disregard +/- altogether though as a kind of aggregate of who is on the court when good or bad things happen. For the series, and last game in particular, Smart and RWill are well in the red and well below their regular season marks. That was also the case for Tatum last game, not quite as far in the red as Smart and RWill but well below what the Celtics need him to be. If we are -5 when Tatum is on the court, that is a big problem. Tatum will need to play better, can't argue with that.
