The first is kind of a stinger, but I like this trade.

Derrick White is locked up in a reasonable deal. Good all around. The 31% 3PT shooting could be messy, but career averages say he can be at best, average. Solid playmaker. Solid defender (great team defender).

I like the trade. Overpay? Sure. But I think this makes us better.

Worth noting that Pritchard would potentially fit well next to White, if our intent is to bring White off the bench.  A defender and distributor like White could free Payton up to just do what he does best - launch.

Richardson kind of filled that role, too, though.

White is a MUCH better player then Richardson.

I don't think he's going anywhere. I think Schroeder moves and they bring in some shooting for the longer term. I think Brad is building next season's team.

Man, I hate dealing in far-future assets like that.  That could either be meaningless or it could be a stab in the gut, and we have no idea which one until we get there.

I'd have rather given up a swap sooner.  It's not very often a franchise can keep two star players on the same team for 10 years.  If we still have them, great.  But if we don't, then my guess is it will be a turn to more of a rebuild which would be bad for this pick.  Kinda reminds me of the Brooklyn trade.
