Wondering how other STMs are feeling about this season. Obviously its been disappointing and it's certainly a buyers market for resale which are two pretty big strikes against us.

Curious how people are leaning for next season. I'd assume there are going to be a lot of people who don't renew, I'd say right now I'm 50/50. I've owned tickets for 10 years but and they are a nice novelty to have, however in those 10 years my per ticket cost has increased from $70/ticket to $110/ticket in the same seat location.

If the Celtics increase the price again I am definitely out, I can simply pick and choose what games I want to go to and pay less for better seats for the majority of games instead of having to take on so many bad weeknight games every year that I ultimately and always sell for a loss.

They claim to still have a wait list which I find hard to believe between COVID and the teams downward spiral. I'm hoping that they reduce prices next year to maintain STM's but I can't imagine that will happen.

Either way lots of rambling, curious to hear what others are thinking, since the renewal window usually starts in February.

This has been a tough season. I usually sell the midweek games, and this year I literally can’t give them away for free. I’m spending much more (net) than ever before, and it’s hard to justify.

Also, with fewer STM events than in the past, I am similarly questioning the value of a season membership. I’m contemplating switching to half-season, or maybe even canceling, and buying resale tickets for the weekend games.

(Sigh)

Have there been any events? I'm a relatively new STM and I haven't been invited to any this season.

Have there been any events? I'm a relatively new STM and I haven't been invited to any this season.

I've been invited to one this year, a roundtable with Ime Udoka pre-Omicron. It was at the practice facility and a nice event. There were 30-40 people there. Best part of it was, as I was leaving, Jaylen Brown was standing in the lobby. I asked if I could take a picture with him only to realize that I have never taken a selfie in my life and had no clue what I was doing. I got half of each of our faces.

1) Until the combination of Omicron and the Celtics sucking hit, this was one of my best years ever for ticket resales. Then it came to a dead halt. Full stop, brick wall. I've been giving a lot of tickets to the Shamrock Foundation recently.

1a) Ticket sales have not been helped by the fact that this does not feel like a particularly likable team.

2) At this point, I absolutely believe that the Celtics have a very long wait list, mostly because I don't think names necessarily get removed from the list in a timely (or any) manner. I question how many of those people are actively wanting tickets, right now. Methinks that a lot of those people would say, "You want me to pay how much for those tickets?"

3) I am also annoyed that the Celtics haven't put effort into doing something for STMs, given the lack of traditional events. I'm not holding my breath, though.

4) I'm renewing for next year because I ultimately enjoy going to the games. Hoping for the best. I have to say, though, that it's the individual events that make the season tickets worth it. If those aren't going to be happening and there is going to be no substitution, it makes the tickets a lot less appealing.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

In terms of STM events, my kids went to a post-game shoot around. Also, we were invited to a Zoom with Josh Richardson, but the timing didn’t work out, so we missed it.

I spoke to a manager the other day. Not sure how proactive they're being, but we're not the only people who have provided negative feedback.

For those who resell tickets, I'm guessing nothing is going to change with what is currently the most damaging issue: The 20% Ticketmaster surcharge on resale tickets that doesn't show up on tickets bought directly from the Celtics on TM.

Did any STMs get invited to the 75th anniversary dinner at the Encore casino last night?  I've seen some photos from the event and it looked like there were some fans in attendance.

I have a friend who got invited. He's a big-time gambler but wouldn't know a power washer from a power forward. I'm guessing invitations went to people who could leave a lot of money in the Wynn coffers.
