He's been an excellent player for us and I hope he gets playing time when he gets back, I believe that he is the key to unlocking this Celtics team.

The Coach and Management need to realize that small ball is a tactic not a way to build your team.   It is nice to have real bigs who can punish teams that don't have them like us.   I think teams have realized that bigs and bullyball can beat us.  We also live and die by the three.

I agree that we need Baynes back.

But with or without Baynes if we continue to play just one big at a time, we are going to continue to get killed in pick & roll by teams playing us to switch.

It's one thing to 'go small' situationally.  But we are doing it pretty much 48 minutes of each game now.  That means opposing teams can know before the game even starts that they'll be able to force a mismatch on the pick & roll.   So that's what the better teams, especially those with a good rolling big, are doing.

They need Williams.

Williams should start on the road with Horford.

I thought CBS put him in a tough, maybe unfair, spot during the 2nd quarter. I agree, rest AL is more important to this season than winning a few road games or back to backs.

The hook was too quick. Let him learn.

What we need is a pecking order....and stick with it.

Starting five:KI,AH, JT,  MS, MM
Shooting Pecking order should be: KI, JT, MM, AH MS

Bench:  GH, JB, TR, DT/AB, starer
Shooting pecking order should be: GH, JB, TR

Makes me sick to my stomach when 2nd unit pecking order is: TR, JB, GH

I'd like to see RW get a chance to play WITH Horford -- move Horford back to the 4 for at lease SOME minutes each game.   Sheesh, Al played 45% of his minutes last year at the 4 and the result was awesome.   I just don't get why was aren't using him there at least some of the time this year.

My speculation is that during the regular season bigs are more important because the intensity is lower.

When things tighten up - like they do in the playoffs, or basically every game the Celts go on a crazy rally down 20 this season... - versatile players with the right mix of skills that play with intensity is more important, which is why wings are so valuable.

Makes me wonder if Ainge doesn't find another big to keep up morales of this team - but on the flip side perhaps we'd want Robert Williams or Yabu soaking up these minutes.
