IT is a great player who believes he is the only great player. He thought he could let the ball roll and throw up a full court shot. No. IT dug us into a whole early and wanted to take the glory in the end. No, not today IT. As much as he yells at his teammates he needs to swallow all of this one.
Pretty much this. IT was a big reason we lost tonight, but it goes way beyond his late crucial missed free throw and the game losing turnover.
Early in the game, he forced a ton of possessions and was absolutely terrible defensively. At one point he was 3-12, and he ended up at 10-25, which isn't great either. Further, he gave up a ton of points to both Bledsoe and Ullis, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up giving up more points defensively than he actually made offensively.
It wasn't all IT, though. Our bigs outside of Amir, especially KO, were exceedingly terrible, but that's on Danny for not doing anything to upgrade this roster.
But all that being said, it's becoming extremely tiresome rooting for our lone star that has such glaring holes and weaknesses in his game. Especially being a defensive-minded guy who loves a strong defensive team and one that plays smart with high BBIQ, it's becoming more and more difficult to continuously overlook these glaring weaknesses with our star player, who might legitimately be the worst defender in the league and is starting to play selfish, forced basketball more and more often with his efficiency taking great hits while doing so.
At least with Smart, Brown, Rozier, Yab, Zizic, and our two Brooklyn picks there's still time to mold them into passable two-way players.
