I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Hield looked to me like he was playing his ass off.

Zizic reportedly plays with a high energy level.

Onuaku
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The better question and easier one to answer is which players DON'T have a high motor. From what I have seen of the top 40 players or so in this draft, most have a high motor.

Depends based on draft boards I'd say only 30% in the top 40 have shown good motors. Most are simply better athletes.

Onuaku

I realize that these are a year old, but I think it's important to post them here.

Quote
When he hit the wall earlier in the season, Rick Pitino mentioned multiple times that Onuaku was having a tough time with the team’s scouting reports.

Onuaku took a step in the right direction on Saturday against North Carolina. In 27-minutes, he finished with eight points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Those aren’t All American numbers, but he definitely showed some upside.

Following the game, Pitino was very complementary of Onuaku’s performance. At Monday’s press conference Pitino backed off of the praise for Nanu a little bit.

“It’s a different type of group,” Pitino said when describing his group of freshman. “Nanu is not weak mentally, but he just doesn’t have a very strong work ethic. If he had Mangok’s motor and desire, that kid would be one of the best freshmen in the country. It just takes a while to build that.”

Quote
Perhaps the best term to sum up his season is uneven. Pressed into significant service probably earlier than U of L coach Rick Pitino would've liked, Onuaku showed some early promise, and had some games where he looked as if he was ready for a breakthrough. But he was quiet in some big games late in the season.

“We wanted to play him 12 or 16 minutes (a game) and bring him along slowly,” U of L coach Rick Pitino said early in the season. “But I don't have that luxury.”

Asked shortly after the season ended if he was happy with Onuaku's progress, Pitino's answer was unfiltered.

“No, I wasn't,” he said. “He's got a long way to go, but he's young. He's got to make improvements in his attitude and his work ethic,
He's got to make improvements in a lot of areas. But he's capable of doing it.

The main thing he needed to learn as a freshman, Pitino said, “was how to work hard.”

I love the guy's passing ability, but these are serious red flags, imo.

Brice Johnson

Not that I think draftexpress is that great or anything, but they did have this to say about Brice -

"...Looking lost, unfocused or disinterested some possessions, Johnson has to tools to be more of a consistent presence on this end, and it will be interesting to see how he progresses as a defensive player at the pro level...."

http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Brice-Johnson-6437/

This sentiment was echoed by nbadraft.net -

"Needs to work on keeping his intensity level up on defense."

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/brice-johnson

Also, Andrew Carter, 'a Tar Heels beat writer', in the words of Upside Motor, had this to say -

“That’s Brice” has become one of Williams’ favorite and most-used sayings. It describes pretty much anything and everything Johnson does, and Williams uses it especially to describe Johnson’s dramatic swings in production and demeanor.

Release a loud, energetic and emphatic scream after a dunk? That’s Brice.

Follow such a moment with some lackadaisical play on defense? That’s Brice.

Set career highs in scoring twice about two weeks before going absent against Clemson? That’s Brice.

And finish a game with 39 points and 23 rebounds? Yes, that’s Brice, too.

The question now, as it always seems to be with Johnson, is whether “that’s Brice” will become a saying that describes consistent excellence or one that continues to be a way for Williams to matter-of-factly characterize Johnson’s inconsistency and laid-back nature."

Sounds like Jeff Green.  Yuck ;D.

Anyway, I'll add one - Taurean Prince.

I think you're right about those 4. Add Bender and Hield to the list, their reports come back very strongly in that department

Hearing this also. Via highlight(scouting) clip, plays his butt off

Danny sounded impressed by his 12/13 performces a few weeks ago
