RANDOM QUESTION TIME!

In your opinion, what school has/had the best college basketball program in the recent years?

There's just 5 schools that I think can compete for this position:
- Boston College
- Boston University
- Harvard
- Northeastern
- UMass

If I was so crazy that I left someone out, add them!
Share your thoughts and explain why!

It's close between UMass, Harvard and Northeastern.  Northeastern is about the same overall program wise and Harvard is definitely better, but I think over the next ten years - well, as long as they keep Kellogg - Umass should be on the up and up

Sure as heck isn't Boston College.

Thanks for destroying that program, DeFillipo.   I'm not bitter or anything.  ::)

I think right now Umass is the best.  BC still has the best prospects of being a relevant team nationwide however.

This is actually probably the best answer.  Ed Cooley is doing a hell of a job.

They've fallen back a bit in the last couple of years but Bentley had a heckuva run in the mid to late 2000s.

BC sends the best guys to the league.

If you asked me "Which team do you think would make a deep tourney run" it would be between BC and Umass. BC plays in the ACC which is pretty tough.

Harvard has been Ivy champs for four years running with two NCAA tournament wins to boot.
Shocking for a bunch of guys who go to class....actually "shocking" might be too soft a word here...

On the subject of Ivy, being old and having things stick in my memory less often than not I will go OT and offer #5 seed Ivy champ Princeton (27-2) vs #12 seed UNLV (22-11) 1998 NCAA tournament....Tigers beat Jerry's Rebs 69-57 in one of the most incredible clashes of playing style I have ever witnessed.

Princeton played 1940's style hoops, they would walk the ball up on offense and execute a minimum of 6 passes before taking a shot. It was the slowest set up I'd ever seen....Their coach Carmody had a .785 winning percentage so guess what? It worked.

Meanwhile, Jerry's Rebs simply melted down from the monotony. They got to "run" three or four times the whole game and never got rhythm.

3 things I want to throw out there:

- Yes, BC's playing in the ACC is a big deal, but at the same time, they've been getting killed.
- Tourney-wise, UMass and Harvard are the top tiers here.
- Has any of these teams produced a LEGIT NBA player recently? I know BC has Reggie Jackson and Jared Dudley (if 7 years ago is still recent).

Northeastern had JJ Barea though.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

As a BC alum I think it has to be Umass.

BC has the highest ceiling because of the conference, but until the coach shows he can recruit solid talent it won't be BC.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Speaking of recruiting, wasn't BU's Joe Jones the primary recruiter at BC in his single season there?

Does that mean he can take that team somewhere? They've been off this season, but they've been pretty good given their talent level during his time there so far.
