Reminder on the rules:

2) You're drafting the character, as played by a certain actor/voice actor. If you're taking Dr. Who, specify which one. Interesting subquestion while we wait for the next pick; tough do a really good first season of a show. Anyone got any thoughts on 'best' first season of a show?

It is, it really is.

Like IP says, the first season (which are the first eight episodes) are the meat and potatoes of the "this is one of the greatest television shows of all time" argument, but the biggest and best thing about Twin Peaks from a cultural standpoint is how much it changed television. To put it in comparison: the show's biggest competition, when it was new and exciting and fighting for ratings, was Cheers. If you look at the way Twin Peaks does shot composition (among other things), esp. compared to the way that a show like Cheers did, it's nothing short of incredible.


Also, it's so, so good, even if you're not a nerd.
