After just watching a ton of youtube clips of Sullinger, I finally figured out who he reminds me of.

He reminds me EXACTLY of Leon Powe pre injury. About the same height and also the same type of player who does most of his work around the paint. I am not saying he will ever be an all star, but I think he can be a productive NBA pro.
Leon Powe was more of a leaper and a good 3-4 inches shorter.

Both play in the paint though.

Powe also had a terrible BBIQ, while that is one of Sullinger's greatest assets.
Yeah I don't get that comparison at all.  And Sullinger is actually a respectable ball handler and shooter with pretty good range.  Excellent rebounder.  Superb technical skills.  And his low post offensive skills are awesome especially for someone his age (and frankly if Dwight Howard had even half of Sully's moves down low he might be the greatest player in the league).  Sullinger isn't very athletic and he isn't super tall, so he struggles a bit with the tall and/or super athletic types.

I maintain the Kevin Love comparisons are pretty close to accurate.  He might not ever develop the overall game that Love has, but they were very similar players entering the draft (minus the back injury concerns).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The more I learn about both Sullinger and White, the more I think White is the better pick if we can only have one. However, we could draft both (BPA) and trade one packaged with that OKC second rounder or even trade JJJ.

Woj: Teams gauging Ohio State's Jared Sullinger believe he won't be selected before No. 20. Despite back problems, there's interest in 1st round.

Sounds like he'll be there if we want him.

Sullinger and White for the win, let Bass walk.

Come on, baby! Daddy needs some new frontcourt depth on rookie contracts! No wammies no wammies no wammies...

Hmmm.... an all rookie-scale PF rotation with Sullinger/JJJ/White?

I guess that wouldn't be so different from the Baby/Powe platoon that saw so much duty after KG went down in '09.

I think Sullinger has a good shot of coming in and starting for us right away, as he is a true NBA PF, fills our post offense need, and allows KG to play outside at the 5 and help on defense.  Sullinger can body up a big.

I'd prefer Jeff Green to come off the bench if we resign him.
