Should I allow this trade to go through: In a Std Yahoo 5x5 Rotisserie 10 team league. Roster size is 25 with three DL spots. Start C, 1B, 2B, SS, #B, OF (x3), Util, S, SP, RP, P, P, P.

The following trade was agreed to: Mark Texeria for James Loney and Johnny Cueto. Yahoo rankings for the year have Tex at 15, Cueto at 40, and Loney at 134. The team receiving Cueto/Loney needs starting pitching stats. The player receiving Tex, needs RBI's.

I'm being pressured by a couple of managers to veto the deal.  Thoughts?

While I think the deal is somewhat lopsided (don't really see anything in Loney), I don't veto trades unless I think something sketchy is going on (like two managers who know each other and are creating a super team)...if the managers both agree and they think they are getting a good deal, I usually stay out of it. I HATE people who veto out of jealousy.

I say tough luck for the people who want to veto it.

Its not that bad of a deal.  Honestly, if I had Teixiera, I would try and find a better package in return but this isn't lopsided at all.  Cueto is having a very solid year and Loney already has 42 RBIs.

I tend to agree with that line of thinking.

Not that it matters much, but is it a keeper league?

It's not a horrendous deal, especially if the guy trading Tex is loaded on offense.
Yup

No veto. Especially if it's a keeper league.

I hate the concept of the veto. I understand why it has to exist, but to be honest if there's two guys youre in a league with that would do that, just kick them out. I do all fantasy stuff with friends, so that wouldn't fly. But this deal in particular is not that awful at all, especially in a keeper.

It all depends on your current situation, but I'd probably do that trade unless you could possibly lose some important points in BA.  If you need saves badly, then do it, they are generally hard to come by.  Depends on if you have another ace as well.  What's holding you back?

I actually ended up rejecting it. I'm pretty steady in BA and HR already.   I didn't want to sacrifice that consistency just to pick up a few more HRs.  Also, I didn't put a heckuva lot of emphasis on saves when I drafted so I really don't think picking up a closer now is going to boost me too high in the saves category.

I just looked at overall standings and the only ones that have been in constant fluctuation on almost a daily basis are W, Ks, WHIP, and ERA.  I figured Felix was a better commodity than Zambrano in that aspect.  Felix ended up pitching a gem last night.
