He’s playing 28mpg in the postseason. Smart is at 33mpg. Would love for them to swap.

It’s hard not to love having Derrick White on this team. Show’s up every night, head always in the game, makes defensive plays, doesn’t give up on plays, hits from deep consistently, drives effectively, make the right pass/ the right play almost always, and he doesn’t miss games. Wow - the guy is such a solid contributor.  I agree that he’s a guy I want Brad to keep.

He has been inconsistent. He was great against Atlanta, lousy against Philly and mostly solid against Miami.

vs ATL - 17.3ppg 3.5apg 56% FG% 46% 3PT%
vs PHI - 9.0ppg 1.0apg 42% FG% 39% 3PT%
vs MIA - 11.8ppg 1.5apg 52% FG% 52% 3PT%

His minutes dropped from 32mpg against Atlanta to 26mpg when struggling against PHI to 24mpg against Miami. The two big lineup reduced some guard minutes and White missed out. After all he was the worst of the trio against Philly so that is somewhat understandable. White had 20min and 23min the first two games to 26min & 27min the last two games. His defense has been solid but not great against MIA.

Overall, he has been too passive on offense since ATL. Not driving enough. Not enough playmaking. He doesn't always look for his shot enough. If he isn't making a good impact on D, his offense can become quite neutral due to passivity.

Ya the only negative is he's been actively bad at times on defense since like the first two games of the Atlanta series. Jimmy has hunted him relentleey this series.

Thats not really his fault, he doesn't have enough strength to take on guys like Harden and Butler, but is has been noticeable. Still, he's been value add overall.

The entire team has been bad defensively, and to be fair at least he hasn’t been as bad as Brogdon on defense and plays extremely hard against scorers clearly bigger and stronger than him.

Well different matchups. He was pretty bad vs. Philly and we needed timelords size. But against smaller teams he seems to feast. like he did against Atlanta.

hopefully he can stay hot for another 2 games...he's also been playing amazing defense on Jimmy Butler. unfortunately the refs dont always see it that way though..

With Brogdon probably being out or limited, I think things take care of themselves. Both Smart and White are getting more minutes, and it feels like White is now making the most of it.

I know the talk has primarily been about Jaylen and Brogdon, but I also felt for a stretch (between the Sixers series and this one) White was meh. Now he's starting to come around again and that's huge. For much of the season, he was probably our 3rd best and most consistent player, and he did play ALL 82 games.

He was incredible last night.  Very steady influence on the court.
