Smart is the free safety sitting back and directing traffic. Brown is poking at the ball while Tatum is taking out Butler, but White is the one trying to steer everything into the Celtics’ hands. “D-White, second-team All-Defense this year for a reason,” Tatum said. “He’s a big part of our team, our identity, things we try and do on the defensive end. He’s a very smart basketball player on both ends, and his awareness, his instincts, they showed tonight.” via Jared Weiss @ The Athletic

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

There are games that DWhite is the most valuable player on the court. In general, I put him 3rd.  He’s not far from Jaylen. Really don’t want to trade him. Also a glue guy - positive team chemistry guy. Seems like a guy you can’t not like; a guy everyone wants to play with.

If you told me I’d have to lose JB or DW for nothing, I’d hesitate a while before consenting to DW.

Imagine if we still had Richardson & Langford…

Series would have been a sweep for Boston, no doubt in my mind.

Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

The moment the Celtics traded for Derrick White, I yelled out loud "YES!" by myself.  He kept our season alive by doing what he does best, EVERYTHING!  Let's go, what a season boys, enjoy.

Besides the obvious, I felt his made threes (only he and Smart actually made a three tonight, which is mind boggling when you think about it) and a few crazy blocks really kept us in it.

I recall as soon as we traded for him I thought he was a fantastic get. He’s not flashy. He’s not sexy. But he does all the things that a championship team needs. School of Pop. Excellent move by Brad.

So, so pleased for D White. With his work ethic, team mentality and his no nonsense demeanour, could't ask for a better Celtic!

Me too. I thought we fleeced them.

That 2028 swap hurts a bit less now SAS have Wemby.
