I'm going to drive into the list later but my first reaction is that I like the following

Terrance Shannon,  clearly an NBA athlete and a player who I will be surprised if he doesnt carve at at least a bench wing role in the NBA

Jordan Walsh, a raw prospect with a really high ceiling. He is a wing with an elite physical profile and all nba defense potential. Espn ranked him 11th overall in his HS class. If he returns to college he likely becomes a near lottery pick. "Pre-draft option"

Jazian Gortman, I know very little about Gortman other then the fact that he played for overtime elite, was at one time a top 10 player in his class (espn gave him a 94 rating), and measured a ridiculous 6'10 ws as a 6'1 guard! In terms of pure ceiling he is at least very interesting.

Chris Livingston, is resume is very similar to that of Jordan Walsh. Like Walsh he was a highly ranked freshman wing (12th in class) who took a backseat this past season. Also like Walsh I could see Livingston returning to college and working his way up into the teens/low twenty's of the 2024 draft.

My first thoughts on the total list of players worked out and the highlighted list above is that Stevens may be targeting a developmental project (aka pre-draft guy) at #35 and then try to land a solid floor 23/24 year old college guy as a UDFA or trade back into the late 2nd.

no news has been coming out about workouts as was suspected. Rumor was teams would keep workouts more under wraps this year to prevent tipping off other teams.

Now that players have returned to college if we are to put any value on what the workouts that have been released I would narrow this list down to

Jackson
Livingston
Walsh

I find it interesting when I did research of who these 3 have reportedly worked out for they appear to be solidly projected in the Cs range.

Livingston Lakers (17,42) Pacers (7,26,29,32,55) Hornets (2,27,34,39,41).  I predict his range is 26-42.

Walsh Nets(21,22,51) Jazz (9,16,28) Pistons (5,31) Magic (6,11,36) I predict his range is 21-36

Jackson Jr Pacers (7,26,29,32,55) Nets(21,22,51) Blazers (3,23,43) I predict his range is 21-43

I hope they find another diamond like I believe JD will be.  I'm also hoping they can get into the late 1st by shopping PP.

I havent watched a ton of Nolley but I dont see the Turner comp. Turner was at his best on the ball, I see Nolley's path to the NBA being that of a 3-D wing with solid size. I would hope for a higher upside pick at #35 but would be really high on him as a late 2nd trade target or as an UDFA.

I think they also met with Adama Sanogo at the combine.  Kid has improved his game each year while at UCONN and might be one of the top rebounders.

It’s more the way they move that struck the comparison for me. Nolley is a much better shooter, Turner was a much better passer.

Here's Hoopshype's workout tracker:

https://hoopshype.com/lists/2023-nba-draft-workout-tracker-where-have-prospects-gone/

It's interesting that the vast majority of guys they have us working out are outside of the top-60 draft prospects.  I assume that means we're looking at two-way players this year.

I posted on another thread that its been reported that the Celtics have had a ton of prospects work out ranging from near lottery to un-drafted.

As much as I love the workout thread I think Steven's is try to keep most of the workouts under wraps.

I am happy to see TDJ has worked out for the Celtics as I have said for a while now I think he would be a great fit.

Also interesting Rafael Barlowe just released an article highlighting Vincent Valerio-Bodon as a real life Bo Cruz, Im not buying it but he is listed as working out for the Cs.

https://twitter.com/Barlowe500/status/1666790150838386690

My other random Celtics draft though, even though we have only had Stevens at the helm for two drafts in those two picks Begarin #45 and Davison #53 its possible to predict a pattern of what he values in a draft prospect. Given the extremely small sample size this may just be a coincidence but both players are young JD (19) Juhan (18), both are elite fast twitch athletes, and both have ++ positional length Juhan (+7ws) JD (+6ws). Time will tell if that pattern holds and the Cs end up with one of the long athletic teenage prospects who maybe available.

Thanks for these lists.

I would love to add Trayce Jackson-Davis but we would have to trade up to get him.   He is not a modern center or PF, but he is explosive and can pass the rock.  His rebounding and running the court skills are very good.

Sounds like Brad learned from Danny that you should workout all draft tiers? Other teams probably do that as well, but I remember Danny wanting to establish relationships with players he had no chance of drafting in case the option to trade for them later presented itself.

Brad also seems to like to get a look at guys that aren’t draft prospects but could be 2-way or Maine Celtics signees.

Edit: speaking of, JD will be in camp. I expect Yam will be, not so sure about Juhann though. Any chance Kabengele or Valentine will get another look?

Package Pritchard and 35 to move up to end of first round where he seems to be available. Worth it?
