Tatum has had 3 field goal attempts in the 4th across 2 games. Not even field goal makes. That’s just attempts! That’s crazy. How’s that possible?

Coaching, These guys look like they have zero clue what to do when they had the ball in the 4th.

Coaching, but also it feels like Smart and Brown in particular are forcing shots or making poor decisions (and turning it over), so JT can't get in rhythm and shoot the ball much. Frustrating.

Poor coaching on our part and other guys not making them pay.

Competent coach in Spo is making the appropriate adjustment and we're not doing anything about it to counter.

In this one, they started doubling him after his big third, and he was generally making the right passes with nobody else stepping up and hitting shots. But there are other ways to still get him involved, yet Joe is clearly clueless about it.

Spolestra is having his players double Tatum every time he touches the ball in the 4th. I’m guessing that has a lot to do with it.

They’re trapping him every time he gets the ball when he initiates play and then when he goes get it on the perimeter he has to be the one to pass into the zone to break it. They could have mixed things up, sun pick and roll with him as a screener to open things up for others but they didn’t.

Tatum and Mazz have to figure it out because he’ll see a lot of traps ans double teams in his career.

there’s no offensive strategy; they’re literally playing street ball.

in crunch time, opposing coaches simply jam tatum when he crosses mid-court and force the ball out of his hands. the problem is no one is moving, jaylen plays atrocious hero ball, and smart makes stupid decisions. tatum gets frustrated and either disappears, or he goes into his own low efficiency iso game.

this is why they look so clunky and disjointed, and scoring seems so difficult for the C’s late in the 4Q. it’s easy to defend such predictably bad offense.

A true PG could break them down. We havent had one in ages. Maybe it would have made sense to try Pritchard tonight.

this misunderstanding that Tatum is somehow being frozen out by his own team is so dumb.
Our coach is the problem.  He can't make in game adjustments to change of schemes by the other team.

I know all of  you want to hang Smart, JB for this loss, but the reason we lost the GAME is that Joe can't make adjustments.

1) Joe didn't pull grant off of guarding Butler after Butler scored on him once?  Why does Joe think that is a successful approach?  That got Butler going, he abused Grant, got them back in the game.

2) Joe didn't make any offensive adjustments to the change of defense in the 4th quarter.

3) Joe can't even take our last timeout to advance the ball, and at least get a quick 3, and try for a steal.  He can't even do the basics.

JOE is the reason for a lot of our issues this year in the playoffs.  He is out of his league as a coach.  It is obvious.

Exactly, there is no coaching.  Deep into the playoffs coaching matters.  Joe has made like 2 adjustments during the whole playoffs.
I know everyone would rather throw Smart and Brown under the bus.  Jaylen had a bad shooting game for the first time today in the playoffs (it happens to everyone).  But the real major issue with this team is coaching.

furthermore, notice how our guards bring the ball up the court for 3.5 quarters, and then tatum plays point in crunch time?

it’s far too easy to defend a 6’9” guy with questionable handles who isn’t quick off the dribble, using the backcourt line as a third defender. the C’s answer is to bring our big up to set a pick, which further clogs the lanes and brings another defender up to stymie tatum. this is exacerbated by the lack of off-ball movement with everyone standing around watching tatum.

it’s a clown show, and if doc was a better coach, the sixers would have won in five, and we don’t even play the heat.

Yeah, that's a good point. You're like just walking into a double team and taking it out of your best players' hands by doing this. Ridiculous.

it’s not a bad offensive strategy with guys like lebron or jordan, but tatum’s skill set isn’t conducive for him to play point. as you said, it simply makes it easier to get the ball out of his hands.

it’s either incredibly low BBIQ by the entire C’s organization, or they’re too afraid to coach JT.

Tatum is lost like the rest of team once it comes down to execution time. Thats what happens when you have weak mental players with no coach.
