I got my hopes up after Game 4, and I thought once we won Game 5 that we'd win the series.
But, I don't love the narrative that the Heat have no chance in Game 7. I hope that the team doesn't by into that, especially after essentially losing Game 6. They need to treat themselves like underdogs, because I don't think Miami will quit.
Elimination game for both teams, desperation will be high. Anyone who thinks it will be a cakewalk is deluding themselves. Jimmy is due for a big game. This Miami team has been underestimated all playoffs. They have to show the same commitment to defense whether they shoot 40% or 20% from 3. I do think we have their measure but it won’t be easy.
Is he? Rounding to whole numbers for simplicity's sake.
Last playoffs he averaged 27/7/4, against us it was 25/7/3.
This postseason he's averaging 28/7/5 and 24/8/6 so far in the ECF.
He had two massive games against us last year, and it's true he hasn't had one of those yet, but it's also true that he hasn't had an 8 or a 6 point performance either.
He's due to shoot better than 5-21 I think.
I could see him going into his shell like he often does (for zero criticism)
He's getting plenty of criticism from his own fans on Miami's subreddit in any case

Like I've been saying, I like Butler, but it always baffles me when he does have some bad games but the media doesn't criticize him for it. If Tatum, Doncic, Embiid, AD, etc. etc. had these bad stretches they'd be getting absolutely shredded by the national media. Not Butler though, he escapes all of it it seems. Took 3 games of mediocre play for people to finally criticize him more. Even last year's ECF, he was great Games 6-7, but disappeared in the middle of it too.
Btw, Butler is 33 and hasn't won a ring either. People hold that against the Jays but they are still 25-26 respectively, while Butler is 33 and hasn't won yet. If he's really this alpha bulldog (like MJ), why hasn't he won anything to date?
