I think you have to roll the dice on Edey if he is out there.

The odds of that pick materializing into anything is slim to begin with so not roll the dice on a guy like him?

agree w this

I wouldn't hate the pick but I'm not sure about fit... Clowney looks the part of a modern NBA big...

What's the general thinking on Emoni Bates?  Too many red flags and not enough performance to justify a top-50 pick?

Gun charges aren't a good sign but he has talent and a good physical profile... He looked good at the combine...

Clowney is like Mobley lite... Not nearly as good but has some of the same skills.

DaRon Holmes would be a great mobile big to develop behind Rob and Al.

There are good looking bigs deep in this draft but I'm sure Brad will pick the shortest one. LOL

Tristan Vukcevic looked good in the combine game I watched.

I think the pick depends a lot on if we want to try and hit a home run with a project or if we want an older game ready guy. I didn't realize that Edey was only 20 years old.

I didn't know that Obi Topin's little brother is in this draft...

That's always the debate.  And sometimes, those "projects" are ready before you'd think and the "ready" guys really aren't.  In other words, DeAndre Jordan vs. J.R. Giddens.

There are also going to be a number of good players not drafted this year. It'll be interesting to see who we bring to summer league.

Open gym all star.

There are probably players in the league that are not as good as Bates but it's like the backup quarterback conversation. Do you want to even risk a headache from your 12th man? Might not be the worst gamble at 35 though, Belichick just picked Kayshon Boutte and Stevens respects BB.

I'm curious about when the new CBA provisions take effect.  One change is that teams get three two-way players.  Another is that they can keep second rounders longer without dipping into the MLE.

Would you rather he pick one that's unathletic instead? Or  one with absolutely no basketball skills? With guys available in the second round (and most of the first, honestly) you basically have to pick 1 or 2 of:
Good size
Athletic
Can play basketball
I'm bitter.
