Man, it'll be so funny if Victor Wembanyama doesn't go 1st.

Woj (twice) said VW may be the best prospect in the history of any sport, ever.

Hype much?
That really is a bit excessive. He’s the best basketball prospect since Bron for me, but I reckon Kareem is probably the #1.

3 time national player of the year, 3 time NCAA champion, 3 time NCAA Tournament best player, inaugural Naismith POY, 3 time Helms POY. Kareem was the best basketball prospect ever

0% chance of happening unless he is imprisoned or suffers a career-ending injury in the meantime.

Yeah, I just hate the premature storyline even if obvious.

I don't watch a lot of college ball but he looks like a coat hanger. I wonder if his lack of bulk will hurt him in the pros. He's not quite Seand Bradley, but he does remind me of him in a way

Fire Joe.

It's funny, every time I've pictured VM in an NBA jersey, it's been with the Spurs.

This means we get #35, unfortunately.

San Antonio fans are spoiled rotten. 3 for 3 on generational bigs. Well hopefully they do right by the kid, it isnt currently the most talented roster but they have preserved their assets and are 2 trades/FA signings away from doing some real damage.

Could be a great rival to Tatum and Brown in a few years. Better figure out the Horford successor between now and then.

The only reason why San Antonio didn't get the #1 pick in the 2003 draft (LeBron) was because they won the title and weren't lottery eligible. That team is beyond lucky in the draft lottery.

He doesn’t play college ball ;)

He also shouldn’t be a 5. He should be a Durant-like forward on offence and a free roaming 4 on defence. His skills and lateral mobility are far greater than any people his size

Good for the Spurs. That’s a good, well run franchise that does stuff the right way.

Yeah, that's way too much.  I think just the sheer injury risk of a 7'5" player is enough to keep me from calling him the best prospect ever.  He's already had a stress fracture in his leg once, and those scare the hell out of me with the really tall guys.

Looking forward to watching him though.  Extremely exciting prospect.  And you have to think the Spurs are one of the ideal landing spots in terms of player development.
