 Potential Horford replacement?

23 year old senior for Indiana.  21 ppg 11 rpg 4 apg and 2.7 big good for 4th in the nation.

A little mechanical and robotic but a good athlete and smart player.  They are saying late first round to early second.  Mature hame could fit right in and also give us some timelord insurance with his rim protection.

I absolutely think he could be a budget Horford replacement type. Iím super high on his skill set as an undersized 5 - great defender, good passer, rebounds well, and has a nice scoring game.

I hope we select him the most out of any of those high 2nds

He looks more like a big wing with his mobility. Looks pretty built for his size. I see that he is 6'9, but saw conflicting reports of his wingspan. Is he going to be a Horford type? Or more of a "swing" defender. Love his instincts. It is just that most of the undersized 5 guys have pretty good or absurd wingspans.

I've seen 7'2" listed as his wingspan, but not officially. My ultimate high-level comparison is an Adebayo type, although with a very slim chance of being that kind of All-Star level talent.

I could see a Looney type big man as a realistic outcome, with more vertical pop

Yeah, this is the guy Iíve been looking at as well with that east second round pick.

The two most important things this team needs to do to ensure a long competitive run are:

1. Get a legitimate young center behind Time Lord who can start 20 games or more a year. We canít be in a position where if Time Lord goes down weíre screwed for the playoffs every year. We have to have a legitimate back up. That back up wonít be as good as Time Lord when healthy, but he has to be good enough that we can win.

Iíd like Poertl but that will be tough to get done. I was really hoping we traded for him.

2. Find Alís long term back up. Itís not Grant Williams and while Tatum is good at PF I think weíve proven that our best lineup is with Smart, Brown and Tatum and the 1, 2 and 3 spots with legit size at the 4 and 5.

Small ball (with Tatum at the four is really cute, but it doesnít cut it come the playoffs because it gets too physical. We are huge, and dominant with Time Lord and Horford in there with Tatum, Brown and Smart.

Trayce Kackson Davis would be a a reasonable choice in the wary second - Inlike him.

We might have to move up to get him. I want him and Zach Edey. Am i asking for too much.

Timelord Edey
Horford Trayce Jackson
Tatum Gallo
Brown Brogdon
Smart White

Thats a championship roster. One more wing defender and its a wrap.

Am I missing something?  I thought we only had one pick this draft.

I wonder how far into the 1st the C's could get if they packaged the pick with PP.

We do only have one pick. Some mock draft sites have been erroneously giving us multiple slots on occasion. We will only have the one early 2nd rounder (barring trades)

Is he able to shoot the 3-ball and well? That's gonna be important to Joe's philosophy.

Regardless I'm down for the C's to draft this guy, provides insurance for Timelord and Horford.

according to the stats online, in 4 years of college and 126 games Davis as ATTEMPTED THREE 3 point shots total, and those all came in his junior year.

he made none of those 3 shots.

but all second rounders are flawed. he would be a nice addition.

I think I prefer Kobe Brown to Davis.
