I'd love to see Tatum get the odd mid-post isolation around the elbows on nights where he is struggling. It would be a great way to get him going. Get him closer to the basket.

Similar to those sets with Dirk at the elbow / FT line area with 4 shooters around him. Or 3 shooters and a big roaming the baseline ready to cut for a dunk if his man helps off of him.

With Tatum's size, speed, shooting touch, driving ability and passing ability over the top ... he'd be a nightmare to defend in that situation.

Couldn’t agree more. His game is horribly one dimensional at times. Side step 3s, missed layups or turnovers. Please do something else.

I think Joe is still waiting for Tatum to figure out what has been wrong with his game after the ASG.

the hawks remained disciplined offensively and worked to get trae open looks, as it was their best chance to win.

the undisciplined and poorly coached C’s have 6-7 guys who excel at scoring in the paint, which should have been the default, go-to offensive mindset all series, and non-negotiable in crunch time against a smallish team that struggles to defend the paint. add to the mix a 6'1"/164lb point guard who carries the load offensively and typically makes little effort to play defense, and you have the perfect scenario to play pnr to get favorable matchups against trae. easy buckets, trae in foul trouble, and an exhausted 1A scorer in the fourth quarter.

instead, tatum dribbles out the clock and jacks horrible threes in crunch time when he’s been off all game, demonstrating his extremely low BBIQ, selfishness, and immaturity.

ironically, tatum not showing up would have contributed to a win tonight. he’s not the guy we hoped for and this offseason brad should fleece some starry eyed GM with an epic danny ainge styled blockbuster trade. unfortunately, this is the only way tatum helps the C’s win a banner.

Another no show in a series without a title.and.ill be right there with you on this.

Not taking the leap this year is concerning......
Still don't believe in Joe.

yeah, it sucks but i’m already there. after all the offseason tough talk about making the leap (league mvp, return to the finals, a banner, etc.), this year has been a huge regression, and it doesn’t seem to bother him.

Tatum had the most unimpressive near triple double I've seen in a while...a Ben Simmonseque triple double

Him and Smartacus were a -9 and -12 respectively

Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

That strategy along with helping Tatum learn to work in that different area for him is the coach's job ..........for example,

Joe says, "Alright guys, let's work on some different looks we can use Thursday night.. Jayson, let's get you into the foul line & elbow area and work on how to get the ball to you in that position and let you work from there.  We'll go live half-court against a defense right now the way we drew it up earlier during film study. We will work individually on how you can best score from there after practice. No sorry, Duece can't be out here playing with his toys."

I don't know, just a guess what a head coach implementing adjustments during a playoff series might look like.

Idc about the stats. He's not taking over, he's nor LEADING this team. DEAMND THE BALL, DRIVE, ASSIST...DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN STEP BACK 3's and cryinf to refs. He cost us big time with his tech.

The team as a whole has 0 killer instinct. They're tooexperienced to be getting comfortable and taking games.for granted. They reak like a bunch of kids who never had any discipline instilled in them. Always the stars and could do no wrong.

He's gone from the cusp of being the best player in the league to dropping a tier below superstar.

He had 8 assists and 8 rebounds tonight.

This is an emotional, reactionary post. His shot wasn't falling tonight. Sucks but if he forced his own shot, people would complain. He doesn't, people still complain.

Surely not.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

Tatum is still great. Just needs to rely less on that three when it isn't falling. There are games you can lose and games you can't, to keep chucking bad shots in  :o.

Did you tune in to the other close out games in the other series last night to see what “great” actually is?

Every player struggles at times. LeBron was called a choker. KD soft, Giannis passive in crunch time, Embiid always hurt or tired, Butler can't do it a whole series, etc..

All these players struggle. It's not a cake walk for any player.

The issue is he's very streaky. When he doesn't hit his 3s early he kinda just coasts and then jacks up more 3s so he can see one go in.

I'd rather him do like Jaylen and go more to the hoop/the midrange if the 3 isn't falling.

I’m well aware of this and that no player is perfect.
Unlike you I also realize Tatum just isn’t a superstar..he’s an all star

This. The problem is that when he is disengaged or choking, he just keeps on chucking and turnong the ball over, regardless of how hot his teammates may be.

It is very difficult to win games when he is playing like that, he basically becomes an asset for the other team.

There is definitely something "off" about his mindset. His body language absolutely sucks a lot of the time. It's a bad look for a guy who SHOULD be your leader. If he ever figures it out we will be near-unstoppable. But right now it is our biggest problem.
