My preference is to keep brown. I've discussed this to death with my friends and nobody could come up with a fair trade for a player of his caliber based on where they are in their career and the potential it has to surpass even that.

The two best scenarios we agreed were:
1) Trade Brown for Biel.
    - In this trade we made the following two assumptions. We would also get a first in return so Brown for Biel and an unprotected 1st.
    - This gives us insurance that Tatum would want to stay a Celtic, seeing we are linking him with one of his BFF's in the league. We also believe Biel would have no problem accepting his role as a #2 to Tatum.

2) The curveball: Keep Brown and Trade Tatum
   - Tell Jaylen this is his team now. Unlike Brown we would could get a kings ransom for Tatum who is still under contract and whoever signs him would have the continuous advantage of resigning him per his all nba status
   - We didnt go team by team of what kind of package we could get for Tatum, I shot from the hip and said Siakim and Van Fleet. Who knows if that is fair or doable, but what I do know is we could get a much better package to pair next to brown, then we would to pair next to Tatum if Brown were to leave.

One thing we all agreed on is that this team is not considerably better if we only had just Tatum or just Brown. Honestly it's probably just a couple of wins difference, which is why we sort of started questioning if trading Tatum is the smart play here.

If Harden's willing to be a #2, think Jaylen and Harden could team up in Houston?

I think Harden has already accepted that role TBH

Then it's probably in play for sure. Harden, Jaylen, a Top-5 pick to go along with that already young up-and-coming roster

I do Jaylen and Smart for Luka and Maxi Kleber. It works in trade machine.

I don't want to trade Jaylen...

I would do Brown for Green/Smith and Sengun without blinking. Sengun and RWIII would be such an entertaining duo.

Leaves us with:

Smart / Brogdon
Green / White
Tatum / Hauser
Horford / Williams
Williams 3 / Sengun

I would probably also entertain Sengun, Tari Eason and Kenyon Martin Jr. as an offer too, but I am higher on Eason than most.

My ultimate preference is still Lillard though.

Reuniting Jaylen and Kyrie would be hilarious

It would be. But Kyrie would probably leave.

I do too. I will say though, IF Jaylen makes All-NBA but for some reason still says he doesn't want to sign the supermax, then the team has no choice but to trade him.

Yeah, Jaylen making all nba is the best possible thing that can happen to the C's. It allows them to offer so much more than anyone else as an extension so they don't have to risk free agency and it would remove all financial incentive for Jaylen to turn down whatever the Celtics offer. So if he were to decline a supermax extension, then yeah, that would be an indication that he should be traded in the offseason.

But I really don't see him turning down that offer.

JB to the Rockets is heating up, especially with Ime heading there.  I didn't realize that JB and Ime had become close.  So, poking around, I saw this online and I thought, [dang], what a package:

Celtics Get: Kevin Porter Jr., Alperen Sengun, Tari Eason, and four future first-round draft pick
Rockets Get: Jaylen Brown

I love JB and was one of the few who were thrilled when the C's drafted him, but I just might seriously consider this!

BTW, Congrats to second team All NBA!

If you are moving Jaylen, you need to aim for a player that COULD be better than him. Otherwise you are moving backwards as a franchise. Knock out 2 of the listed assets and add Jalen Green. That is the only way you think about it.

Whatever actually happened to GreenlyGreen? Haven't seen him around these days. He'd always jump on the opportunity to propose trades involving JB.

Now it's his perfect chance.  ;D
