With the news just breaking now that the Saints are on the verge of signing Derek Carr and with the franchise tag deadline approaching, I figured it was a good time to start this thread.

I hope it happens soon.   That contract could help the Giants/Jones get to a contract agreement before having to use the Franchise tag.

reportedly a 4 year contract with a "big" number, but haven't heard the actual dollars.

I keep hearing how the Saints are always in "cap hell" yet they always manage to get by each year with restructures, and now they sign Carr to some "big" 4-year deal

They are going to have to cut a bunch of people and they can't even cut Winston until July 1st without eating a ton of money.  If they wait they get a lot more of him written off.

That division is there for the taking so why not if you're New Orleans.

That's pretty reasonable. It's kind of in the Goff/Stafford range.

Daniel Jones is about to cash in big time lol

I'd rather have Carr than Jones.

Another contract that is not fully guaranteed.  Be very interesting to see what Burrow gets.

I fear he will get traded to the jets. Water seems pretty muddy in Baltimore at this time.

If Baltimore trades Lamar, I say it be to an NFC team..Washington, Atlanta or Carolina..they don’t want to face him in the AFC

Bruh Geno Smith just got a 3/105M contract extension

I mean good for Geno, but wowzers. These QB contracts are truly becoming insane.

Daniel Jones is very likely going to get around 4/160M. I can see why Lamar Jackson probably feels he should get more, even if it's not BAL giving it to him. And I do think some team would pony up for Lamar (like the Jets)

Speaking as a Pats fan, I wonder how much Mac could get if he has a solid 2023-2024 season. I think the Geno Smith contract is a good comparison, obviously with 1-2 additional years since he's younger.

Geno deal strikes me as one those "[dang]ed if you do, [dang]ed if you don't" deals.

Good for Geno on that money, though.
