Yeah, that was ugly. It started well. I thought I had it with my 2nd guess but I was a year too early for Bey. Same problem with my 3rd guess. And my 4th guess. All played for Bey's team the year before he got there. I have no clue who has been on DET for the last couple of years.
Time for a rethink. At least my last guess was a journeyman who played with a bunch of different dudes over the last couple of years. Only two guess left. No direct connection. So try to find a vet on Bey's current team and find a connection from that guys previous team ... to my journeyman. Just made it! Last guess.
Did not think I was going to make that after my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th guesses all failed in the exact same way!!
I went with Butler and Olynyk yesterday. Or maybe it was who wasn’t there long enough so I went with Haslem? I can’t remember. It was definitely Kelly O who I used as the connector.
Today I couldn’t place Granger’s era. Definitely getting a little fuzzy as the years go by. I really thought he was going to be a superstar. Got all banged up.

Olynyk is a great one. I always forget him. I forgot him on a previous one a week or two ago as well.
I thought I had a real good one yesterday. I went with Norman Powell teammate of Lowry in Toronto who was teammate with Luke Kennard in LAC who played with the Pistons. I thought I had it in 2 to Bey. Nope, Kennard left the year earlier. I tried Christian Wood. Surely he played with Bey before leaving for Houston. Nope. Left the year before Bey like Kennard. Tried the only other guy I could think of with the Pistons and that is Andre Drummond. Nope. Left that same year right before Bey joined.
Luckily Drummond has played with like 25% of the players in the league so you can pivot a bit off of him. I forget who I went with next. It was a Spurs player. Oh DeRozan. Teammate in Chicago. Then to Dejounte Murray who now plays with ATL and Bey.
I looked up DET rosters afterwards to see who I missed out on = most obvious one = Blake Griffin!!!
I mean the man plays for the Celtics. Should have remembered him. I have completely blacked on his time with the Pistons. I go LAC then brief turn on the bench in Brooklyn.
Derrick Rose could've worked as well.
I haven't tried today's one yet but I have watched a couple of Granger games over the last month or so. So I do have a few of those guys fresh in my head. Although mainly his early to mid career teams rather than late career which looks more appropriate for this match.
I had forgotten Granger started off with those Ron Artest pacers teams. I was watching one of Peja's first games with the Pacers after the trade for Artest. Granger off the bench. Started some that year do. Swiss army knife role player before becoming a stud scorer. I had forgotten that stage of his career too. Only really remember him as a 20-25ppg guy and then later a broken down body guy.
Ron Artest, Stephen Jackson with Danny Granger backing them up. Man they never should have traded Artest. What a big powerful wing trio to compete against.
