This is a great thread.  Not easy to rank the top 10.  I hadn't thought about Phil Silvers in a long time.  Also, including Schitt's Creek was thinking outside the box.  Using your top 10, these are my favorites:

1. Seinfeld
2. All in the Family
3. Cheers
4. Schitt's Creek
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm
6. The Phil Silvers Show
7. The Honeymooners
8. The Bob Newhart Show
9. The Dick Van Dyke Show
10. The Mary Tyler Moore Show

I saw a list of top sitcoms of all time somewhere and all the shows were from the 90s onward. I thought I should post a real all time list. It would be like an all NBA team from the 90s on...

Curb is the last man standing from your list.  Larry David is hilarious and smart.  He and Seinfeld produced Gold Liam! Gold!

Don't know that I want to rank them, but here's 10 off the top of my head:

I Love Lucy
All in the Family
The Odd Couple
Golden Girls
Cosby Show
Seinfeld
Roseanne
Big Bang Theory
Modern Family
The Simpsons

Note: I think opening up the option of cartoons on this list can create a slippery slope. I would have at least 5 of my choices be cartoons (Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill, Beavis and Butthead), but I do think The Simpsons are the most traditional of the bunch and have been a staple of American culture for like 34 years.

I like a lot of these. I like Schitt’s but wouldn’t put in top 10.

Others I’d consider: Taxi, Arrested Development, Andy Griffith, Soap.

I don't really know what counts as a sitcom.  Are 10 episode streaming series in the category?

Ones I've enjoyed in the last 10 years or so:

Modern Family
Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Schitt's Creek

A little older:

Fresh Prince
King of Queens
Roseanne
Cheers
M*A*S*H*
All in the Family
Seinfeld

And the best of all-time:

The Cosby Show

(If the Simpsons counts, it's obviously on the list, too).

I’m not too sure what is characterized as the ‘best’, but in terms of critical success, sublime script writing and acting…it’s Frasier.

I know it isn’t the most quotable and not the most popular in regards to viewership, but it always won the most Emmy Awards (37 in total) during a sitcom golden era of shows including; Seinfeld, Friends, Roseanne, The Nanny, Everyone Loves Raymond, Will & Grace, 3rd Rock From The Sun, The King of Queens, Becker, The Drew Carey Show.

I would've put the Simpson's on my list if they had quit making them 10 years ago...

I liked Schitts Creek, but no way I put it ahead of Curb. The Office was a great as well.
