Sooo, the defense will be good but the O-line will still be trash and Mac will get hammered again?

Maybe that’s Bill’s way of getting back at Mac for questioning the coaching staff and seeking advice from outside of the organization.

Some good RT available still. Only Freeland I see as a possible LT early career

Ha! Maybe. Maybe Bill plans on winning a lot of games by scores of, like, 12-9?

Bill doesn’t seem to value the offense much. Pretty evident by the way he drafts and the fact that he thought Patrica and Judge running the offense was a good idea. Also isn’t willing to spend for a legit #1 WR which is so critical in todays game. Apparently Bill thinks he can still win by simply having a good defense and running the ball. Someone should tell him that it’s a passing league now. He just refuses to adapt.

Pats first pick in the 4th round: Jake Andrews-C

Add K Chad Ryland and G Sidy Sow.

Glad to see a center and a guard selected though I haven’t the slightest idea whether either project to be starter quality.

Took a kicker with a pretty valuable pick. Don’t know anything about the guy but I imagine he must be pretty good. ???

Glad for any knowledgeable folks to assess the selections.

I love the Sow pick. He can play any of the three interior line positions and was one of the best run blockers in college last season. I do wonder if the Pats are planning to move Onwenu back to RT. Their picks of Andrews and Sow (along with the other FA additions) seem to indicate they either know they won't pay Onwenu after this season, or that they'll move Onwenu to RT and roll with Trent Brown, Onwenu and their other additions (Reiff, Anderson, McDermott, etc.) in a rotation at tackle.

David Andrews is 31 and getting older, plus he's dealt with some injuries. I think this new Andrews (Jake Andrews) might just be backup in 2023, but insurance for beyond that.

I like Sow pick and Center. Still would have preferred a OT in a move up and move Wynn to Guard.

Wynn's a FA. He's very likely gone. Which is perfectly fine with me

So we are relying on Reiff to be the starting LT?

I'm not 100% sure. They still have Trent Brown. It may come down to practices, training camp and preseason to determine the rotations and depth.

I felt last year Brown established he is too slow to play LT. Pats really should have got a OT in the second. LT is more important that a DE or LB.

They should have just kept Brown at RT. He's better there than LT.

He was. They only moved him because Wynn was the worst starting LT in football last year. I thought Brown was supposed to go back this year.
