John Gambadoro: Knicks have offered Evan Fournier’s contract into an exception that Boston has in order to free up enough space to sign Jalen Brunson.

Fournier and 11?  If we had Fournier would we have beaten the GSW.  I'm not do sure.

There's no way New York is dumb enough to give up 11 just to dump Fournier... is there?

I would never underestimate the ability of The Knicks to do a really stupid thing.

I don’t think we’re allowed to acquire Fournier this league year, and next year he doesn’t fit.

We are allowed to.  I don’t love Fournier, but I love the idea of acquiring somebody with the trade exception created by trading that player away, so I’m all for it.

Edit:  Here is the relevant Larry Coon language:

Quote
A team cannot reacquire a player it traded away during the same season (a season for this purpose being defined as starting on the first day of the regular season and ending on the last day of the Finals). If the player was traded between seasons (i.e., from the first day after the Finals to the last day prior to the start of the next regular season), it cannot reacquire the player prior to the end of the next season. If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first6. However, if a team trades a player's draft rights, it can reacquire the player during the same season.

He was traded before the beginning of the regular season, so we are are allowed to reacquire him now that the Finals are over.

Mini rant...the team with the first pick in any draft, should not have the same amount of time as everyone else. Adam Silver should have announced the pick immediately after his opening remarks.

I think that was the safest pick for Orlando. Smart move, Imo.

Is Banchero any good?

How similar is he to John Collins?
Just with less jump-shooting.

Really difficult to differentiate any of the top 3 prospects from our position. If ORL decided that Banchero was their top choice and best fit, then it's hard to argue.

OKC stuck with their guy Holmgren at 2. Looks like HOU is going Smith.

Much better passer than Collins. Also better dribbler by quite a margin. More athletic Julius Randle type offensive player
