Anybody watching this show?
Man they make Jerry West out to be a raging loser...Thoughts?

Seems to me this is Buss Family backed for sure--Jeanie Buss is the hero, haha.

Watched the first two episodes.  John C. Reilly is pretty awesome as Buss.  Totally agree about them making West about to be a complete prick.  Same for Norm Nixon & Kareem although Jake Kent Cooke might take the cake (Read up on him.
Complete & utter scumbag).

Seems like they're trying real hard to make Red a complete villain.

It's amazing how much they were actually able to make Magic's character actually look like 1979 Magic.

Considering my utter hatred for all things Lakers, I think its pretty good so far.

And I bet they won't talk about how the Lakers cruised to the Finals every year in a WEAK West...While the Celtics had to play Philly/Detroit/Chicago/Atlanta/Milwaukee every year--just to get to The Finals.

Still, I'll watch every episode...even though all the characters are over the top---heard the NBA is not happy about this show, and Jerry West too.

2010 was rigged, nuff said. Should've been the Celtics' championship.

I’ll pretty much +1 all this.

I like Michael Chiklis, especially as the commish back in the day, but I’m not a fan of his portrayal of Red

Truth...at least the 4th quarter was.

When your opponent missed 56 shots and shot only 32% the whole game, and shoots 20 free throws in the 4th quarter...you know the fixing was in. Joey Crawford, Dan Crawford, and Scott Foster were definitely the three worst nightmare trio the Celtics had to endure, on top of the already fully healthy Lakers squad. We didn't lose because of the loss of Perkins. We was robbed.

as soon as the 4th began-the refs started calling cheap off the ball fouls on Boston to get LA in the penalty right away--which was totally different than how the first 3 quarters were called....Yeah the fix was in alright.

Oh, I love it. If you think about it, Red WAS the villain. The egotist who rubbed his opponents' faces in his victories. A huge personality. And it looks like Chiklis - a proud Lowell/Andover guy with tons of respect for Aurbach - is portraying him just as larger-than-life as he must've seemed to someone like Buss at that time.

Jerry West is the only one of that bunch that has any integrity.
He suffered more than any Laker, but didn't make excuses about the Celtics like Pat Riley, Kareem, Wilt, Phil Jackson, Worthy and McAdoo with Riley being the worst. I guess the greatest dynasty in the history of professional sports is too boring for HBO to do a show for.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
