I have the 7th pick in a rookie draft for a long term keeper, rotisserie league.  These picks are an important piece of keeping your team relevant from year to year.  There are salaries assigned based on the spot they're drafted, so I need a guy who will be productive with a year or two.

Assuming the top 5 picks in the NBA draft will all be gone before I pick, make a ranked list of your 6-10 based on their ability to produce fairly quickly.

I'll make my pick based on the results.

I'm just not that good with the draft.

Thanks!
Yup

Bouknight seems to be an interesting player.  Some people love him, some can't stand him.  He can score though, which is usually good for a fantasy league.

I'd probably do Mitchell.  I think you should get decent value out of him for the next few seasons.  Probably doesn't have star potential, but should be a nice solid player

I ended up with Mitchell.  (I know you were all dying with the anticipation of knowing this).

I'm happy.  He did put up some nice numbers in a preseason game when he got in the starting lineup.  If he can push for minutes, he will be a keeper.

This was the top ten (I jumped the gun on my pick and ended up 6th with a weird miscommunication - these are their starting salaries in our league - based on a $250 cap):

1) Cade Cunningham $20
2) Jalen Green $19
3) Evan Mobley $18
4) Jalen Suggs $17
5) Alperun Sengun $16
6) Davion Mitchell $15
7) Scottie Barnes $14
8 ) James Bouknight $13
9) Moses Moody $12
10) Josh Giddey $11

Kuminga went 18th

So is Sengun at 6. He is almost always going to be playing behind a young Christian Woods. I can't see his fantasy stats being much of anything for years.

Maybe Houston will play them together and completely abandon any pretend efforts to play defence?

I’d gamble on him.  Teams generally don’t give up two #1s for a guy if they’re not going to give him a legit look.

I reckon he'll probably get around 20 or so minutes per game, but I think Theis complements Wood far better than Sengun does. Sengun, Tate and Kenyon Martin Jr. are a good young trio to bring off the bench.

Either way, Houston will be a very low-win team

I actually had a rookie draft with the 7th pick the other day. Too funny.  I picked Kuminga, and Mitchell was my backup if he was gone.  I really liked Mitchell in the summer league, but it seems like Kuminga has star potential and Warriors have been tracking him since he was a freshman in high school.  Plus the Warriors have a very good track record with draft picks.

I'm not actually sure Kuminga will be a good fantasy player, like ever.  He reminds me very much of one of those toughnosed defensive oriented guys, who does a little bit of everything, but doesn't really excel at anything.  A guy that will probably give a pretty consistent 10/5/3/1/1 with strong defense type stat line, which is very valuable to a team, but not fantasy.

I'm pretty high on Kuminga. I think he can turn out to be an Anunoby-type player. Around 15PPG, around 6RPG, 2-3APG and 1.5SPG with decent efficiency.

It's a long term keeper league and the guy who picked him has won the league 6 years in a row (which is really difficult to do).  He is in rebuild mode, so I think he didn't mind taking the long view.

I didn't have another pick until 27th pick (2nd to last).  I picked Josh Christopher from Houston.  Probably never see the light of day, but I figured Houston is as good a place as any for a young guy to get a chance.
