The writing has been on the wall with him physically.

Helluva career.  One of the all time great Pats WRs and certainly one of the most clutch.  Vital cog in that "dynasty reloaded" run.  Tough as nails.  He was a fun one to watch.

One of my favorite players and someone I think it would be hard to not respect. Great career filled with great moments. Now the question is, is he a Hall of Famer? As much as I love him and would love to see him get the nod I think I lean towards “no”. While his post season numbers are special his overall career numbers are not that special.

No.  First ballot Patriots HOFer but not Pro Football HOFer.

Now, if there was a such thing as an NFL Playoff HOF, he'd be a lock.  Think he's 2nd to Rice in both playoff catches & yards

Wow. So great of him to deliver a message like that, after delivering on the field so many times in his career. That catch against the Falcons might be the most amazing catch in the history of football, and certainly in Super Bowl history. He was so clutch. Definitely a Pats Hall of Famer, and I know I'm biased, but I might also say an NFL Hall of Famer—his regular-season numbers aren't up there, but boy his postseason ones are, and that's the biggest stage in the game.

Thanks for everything, Julian.

Classy guy.  He's always been one of my favorite Patriots.

Bittersweet. Him retiring makes me look back on all the great moments, but it’s a bit sad there won’t be any more.

However, given how old he is and how smashed up he was getting it’s the right move. Thanks Jules!

Amazing career that stats can't summarize. Pats HOF. Classy exit. Hope he gets healthy and enjoys his family life and the next chapter. Maybe it's coaching or broadcast or something completely different , if he comes at it with the drive he had for football he will succeed. Congrats #11
