Can Someone Explain To Me JB Playing For West Conference (Team LeBron) please?

I thought maybe it was because he was born there but he was born in Georgia. Is it because of his college being California?

There’s no more Eastern / Western split.  Rather, the leading vote getter in each conference is a team captain.  The two captains draft teams from the pool of selected all-stars.

So, the teams this year were Team Lebron and Team Durant.
