If you have to trade Smart or another one of our core guys to bring back Capela, then easy no for me.

Naw. I would not give up Smart over Hayward in this scenerio

But unlikely Rockets would be satisfied with Covington and Theis for Capela

wonder if Danny is interested in Capela.

It depends what the price is. Not for Smart.

Random idea:

Langford + Williams + Poirier + Green + Semih + 1st

for

Capela + Rivers

No way the Rockets would take on 3 extra players. You'd need 1 or 2 extra teams involved just for the roster spots

Sure, but that part is easy enough to figure out.

I think the bigger issue the Rockets arent trading their bets chip for a bunch of Celtics bench guys. I would think they would be trying to make a three team format that actually brings back somebody pretty good.

The format that makes the most sense is the Celtics sending either Theis or Kanter to the Rockets to replace Capela, then sending Pick(s) and/or young guys to a third team who send the rockets a starter level 3+D wing.

Some example include Covington, Morris, Bogdanovic, Crowder, ect.

So from the Celtics perspective it would be say Theis, a first and some salary pieces (Poirier, Edwards, semi) for Capela.

Hmm so HOU wants Covington and is shopping Capella, Min wants two firsts, and the C's have three firsts and want Capella. Sounds like there may be a fit.

You don't have to be a cap specialist. Just go to the trade machine and you can figure it out yourself.

The Wolves get pick(s) as well. Hopefully, they like Langford and they settle for just one pick (the Celtics 2020 first). TP to DefenseWinsChamps for proposing this idea.

Maybe Bertans as well. Not a 3+D wing, but he's a deadly shooter.

What?! The Wolves wouldn't be satisfied if they were getting Theis and Capela for Covington, if the Rockets were offered Covington straight up for Capela they'd bite Minny's hand off. ::)

If I were the Celtics FO I'd be interested in a trade like this:

https://tradenba.com/trades/H0aXuWIVP

I'm aware that two first round draft picks is considerable value, but Bogdanovic is a fine guard/wing player who's an excellent scorer and creator who can play on or off ball. Having him as an option off the bench would work wonders for our bench offence when the second season rolls around, ntm he'd give our starting 5 a more offensively slanted option at the wing if we need some extra juice against a defensive juggernaut/offensive flamethrower.

Now this is a trade I'd be intrigued about. If we can minimize what is coming out I'd be on board.

I'm a fan of Bogdanovic's game. I fully believe he's an underrated player. Having said that, 2 firsts + 2 prospects is a massive overpay. Chances are we'd have to pay him north of $15 million per year next summer. What happens if a desperate team offers him crazy money? Do we match the offer or do we let him walk for nothing?

Four first rounders is a superstar hall.

I realize Capella is better than R Williams right now, but I think long term R Williams will be better. Has better feel for game.  And has more potential as a switchable defender. Also better contract.

I mean it's two late firsts and two low end prospects, the former is significant but not massive value while the latter is pretty much chump change. Obviously I do think that the offer is a bit rich (I noted it in my first post), but it's not in the "Danny you got fleeced!" territory.
