Each judge gets one 11 score for the slam dunk

Then AG would have been repeat champ

I have to admit that the final round of the dunk contest was worth watching.
Probably 1 dunk by Gordon and 1 dunk by Jones would have to be top 10 dunks ever at the dunk contest.
The Gordon dunk of the side of the backboard was video game level crazy.  But Jones had multiple extreme degree of difficulty dunks.  Probably should have been a shared crown this year.

A shared crown would have been the best case scenario because it would have helped create a buzz for an event that is slowly losing interest from fans. After witnessing all those crazy dunks, the anticipation for a rematch for next year’s contest would have been great. Instead, Gordon says he’s done with he competition and the slam dunk contest is tainted yet again.

Do contestants in three point shooting share the trophy?

How about NBA finals contenders?

Competition is fun because it's competition. Losing sticks, but that's what makes winning fun.

I haven't watched/listened to a lot of All-star stuff, but that commentating was SO irritating last night. They were absolutely awful. They repeated the same thing over and over and over again. They made noises, but no comments. They had no respect for the competitive aspect of the competition.

And Aaron Gordon ran into the back of Tacko's head, while he had his head partway down. Are we gonna just pretend like that didn't happen?

You are right.  Reggie Miller just keeps repeating the same exact thing loudly when he gets excited.  And then afterward the judges were talking like they were unhappy with each other.  It's supposed to be a competition and Gordon messed up a little bit on his last dunk, so he didn't win.  Who cares if he got so many 50's earlier?  It's as irrelevant as a team repeatedly blowing out another team in the first round before losing in the next round.

In all fairness, using Tacko was totally unplanned, unrehearsed. He pulled it off quite well all things considered. His first choice was to use Shaq, who refused to do it. If it had been Shaq, he would have cleared his head.

Slam Dunk should've just ended in a tie and the trophy split.  It was clear that it was a stalemate.

It isn't like the Skills Challenge or 3 Point Shootout which are quantifiable.   Dunk contest is subjective and it was pretty clear that Gordon & Jones were locked in a split.

I certainly don't think there was a robbery last night.

Yes trophies can be shared, that is all I was saying. The examples you gave have not ended in a stalemate. I will venture that if they do there might be consideration to share the trophy.

As far as the competition, there are so many things that should be done to make the scoring better. The judges did not take it seriously. It was totally unfair that Jones kept dunking first and Aaron second. They should have tossed a coin before each round OR alternated the sequence. The judges should be more serious if they want to take the competition seriously. I do not think they do so no need to make a big deal on this.

Of course we’re gonna pretend it didn’t happen.  Just like we pretended not to notice the car Blake Griffin jumped over was parked under the basket.  And like we pretended Dwight Howard dunked the ball in a 12’ rim even though he just threw it in there.

It’s an all star weekend tradition

LOL. 4 minutes to go in the 1st and both teams have already put up a combined 70.

Also, congrats Tatum on his first points of the All-Star Game !
