So how many guys sit tomorrow in NYC? Could see Brad sitting Hayward and Kyrie all together.
Hayward will probably hover around 20 minutes, and Kyrie maybe around 25 mins. I'd be surprised to see them sit entirely. A weak team like New York would be good to experiment against
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

  • GOT IT!!!
I want to see this team come for blood tomorrow night. They really don't need to be letting weak teams like the Knicks catch them this season.

Blah game tonight. That VanVleet 3 at the end of the half was a back-breaker and a sign of things to come.

We obviously have the potential to play with Toronto, but I hate that they switched out DeRozan for an in his prime Kawhi Leonard. Green was also a sneaky good addition as a 3 and D championship starting player.

The good news? Apparently we are a good offensive rebounding team - which is good, because we are going to need multiple attempts to make up for our poor shooting and porous defense.

Very important that the Celtics have homecourt against the raptors in the playoffs
The only color that matters is GREEN

craziest thing about the Leonard trade. They got Danny Green as a throw in, and he's playing like it's 2014. Green is the perfect addition because the Raptors' have small guards who can't switch onto a guy like Tatum. Green filled a big Toronto weakness. No disrespect to DeRozan, but Green is a huge upgrade to their defense.

Toronto got two starters for one and made the bench even better by moving Anunoby and Valanciunas to the bench

Looking through the box score, nothing jumps out too bad.. meaning the defense was probably the main reason we lost

Also, we had a worse FG % than Toronto.. Can't have smart going 1-6, rozier 2-7, and  Barnes going 2-8.  Kyrie with the worst +/- at -16. We had too many fouls prob due to being on road  (27), slightly too many turnovers (14).

I just see this as needing more effort on defensive tuning from coaches. Defense needs to be hammered in. Clean up the fouls and turnovers a bit and we should be good

Brown has been bad on both ends these last 2 games. He still misses shots at the rim. And he has not done much defensively. He forces 3s and really to me is the weak link as a starter. Would be fine if he was moved to the bench.

Well, he was net neutral in plus-minus in a game in which we lost by 12 and every other starter was -10 to -16. He was also 3/6 from three so if thats forcing threes he should probably keep forcing them. I mean he wasn't great, don't get me wrong, but he should have been playing at the end.

I think they came out of half time wanting it more than us.   Leonard was amazing at the beginning of the second half.   They clearly were sending us a message that they are tog dog in the east.

I am not worried.  Because I believe Ibaka will break down as the season goes on.   Also, they seemed to have adjusted to their talent quicker than we have to our returning talent.   But one thing is certain, Philly is a marginal threat now compared to the Raptors.   It will come down to us and TOR.

Yeah, that was a completely different Ibaka than anyone has seen in the last 3 or so seasons. There is no way he can keep that up, right?

I agree with this, but the craziest thing about the TOs is that all but a couple of ours were in the first half when we were winning. I think we were basically just awful and disinterested in the 2nd half.

Always thought this was a very underrated aspect of the trade. Everybody was talking about how the Raptors were going to miss Poetl, but the Green acquisition is way more important with the way Siakam and Anunoby have progressed. Valunciunas isn't even very important anymore. They needed a 3 and D starting level wing much more than a 4th-5th big...and they got two of them (one an MVP candidate).

I mean it'd be nice for sure but the Raptors playoff record with homecourt suggests it's not that crucial.

Fun game to watch.  At least for 3 quarters anyways. Seemed like the Cs folded in the 4th quarter. Their offensive and defensive execution was not very good. Overall, bad games by Smart and Tatum imo.

Toronto gonna be a problem with Kawhi. This would be quite the playoff series between these 2 teams if it were to happen. Think these are the 2 best teams in the East by a wide margin.

I see Milwaukee as a potential obstacle to the Conference Finals. Not many threats elsewhere. I'm just surprised that to some this seems to be a new observation.

Toronto was the best (regular season) team last year in the East and they traded DeRozan for Leonard. In my book Leonard >> DeRozan and thus you'd expect Toronto actually to be even better. Why would suddenly a team like Philadelphia, which did nothing substantial, be a factor?

I don't get it.
