He can dunk, so what?  Sorry, but is this even real?

Can't complain too much I guess... he reminds me of a Deandre Jordan that shoots better free throws

Why do all Euro centers’ highlights look like they’re playing on 9-foot rims?

He looks like Theis and Faverani’s highlight reels.

Although now we know Theis can hit the three.

Theis was renowned for his defense coming across (and won a German defensive player of the year award), but his D is only average in NBA, maybe slightly above average. I will hold comments on this beast dude's defense until I see him play against NBA quality.

Best of luck Vinny!

He has the physical tools I guess. My only problem is that wasn't even doing that well in Europe, stat wise at least. He's 25 how much growth is left in his game.
He led Euroleague in rebounds and led his team in scoring. He was widely regarded as one of the best european players. How is that not doing well?

I don't know if he'll help us or not, but he appears to be one of the most ambidextrous players I've ever seen.

A lot of the time people only look at the basic stats and go “why isn’t he dominating more?” without realising how different European basketball is. One only needs to go back to critics of Doncic’s numbers

Our team will be back on high octane offense. Both Kanter, Theis and Poirier can run the floor.

Kanter and Theis at least are better offensive players than defensive players (not sure about Poirier).

Masslive had it that Poirier is the best defender and roll man out of the Euro/Turkish centers. He's 6'11", 7'6" wingspan. Seen him listed various weights but 245 seems about right from the films; he's strong but still relatively mobile  - not as quick as playoff Al but competent in drop coverage on a pick and roll, at least in Euro ball. Does not shy away from contact and a determined rebounder. His most obvious limitation is that if he has a jump shot he's never shown it. Be interesting to see how he holds up against NBA speed.

With the four centers we've got I'm ready for almost anything; they could all be bench-quality players or one or two could break out to be starters.

I like poirier.

He is a nice combination of Baynes and Adams. He will hurt people, and he likes hurting people. Actually has some athleticism for a man his size as well. Long arms. great at rolling to the rim. sets powerful screens. good motor. Very nice add.

He seems like a young Baynes pre 3pt shooting.  Not that Bayes was a good 3pt shooter but he was adequate enough to space the floor a bit.  The C's do not need him to shoot they need all of their bigs to be relentless on the rebounding end and on the defensive end.  Kanter can score but Timelord, Poirier and Theis need to rebound and play D when they are there.  Hopefully this guy is a surprise but going into the season I have zero expectations since we know next to nothing about this guy outside of highlights.
