Ultimately, I think Pau is now the most critical player on LA to any success they might enjoy.

Pau has a chance to earn his stay, or at least, unfortunately (for the rest of the league) boost his trade value.

Nice.  Jazz won tonight.  Hopefully they can pull the upset over the Grizz on Wednesday.  That'll put a lot of pressure on the Lakers in the late game against that high octane Rockets offense.

Go Jazz!! Go Rockets!!!

Monta Ellis is having one of his random explosions.  38 points, including a 4-point play to take the lead with 15 seconds left.

Maybe he read all the smack I was talking about him last night.

EDIT:  Just like that, Lawson wins the game for Denver.

Don't look now but...

Since the Rockets lost to Suns tonight, if the Lakers beat the Rockets on Wednesday then the Lakers will clinch the #7 seed and would be set to face the San Antonio Spurs in round 1.

And if they beat the Spurs, they can potentially face the Denver Nuggets in round 2 (who are without Farried, Gallonari, etc).

Wow, talk about hard luck. Houston better make tomorrow's game their most important game of the season if they want to seal that seed and the Lakers' fate, if Utah beats Memphis.

It'll be the Harden show tomorrow and even the refs won't be able to get the Lakers into the playoffs 8)

If the Lakers lose they miss the playoffs?

Houston aways seems to let me down as does Utah when it comes to stinking up the Lakers hopes.  It seems they choke every time I need them to win.

Just hoping at this point the Spurs get Ginobili back and beat the tar out of the Lakers.

Only if Utah wins which will be tough.  They're playing Memphis on the road and that game could be the difference between home court in the first round for them (LA Clippers own the tie breaker).  If the lakers win they'll lock up the 7th seed (HOU/LAL would be 2-2 and LA has the better conference record).  I still think SA takes a series with the lakers but that would be a much easier road then facing OKC in round one.

A lot to be decided Wednesday for the western conference.

3/4/5 seeds and HCA, 7/8 seeds as well as the final playoff spot.

Utah's been ridiculously good these past 11(?) games.

Finally, ESPN is using the playoff theme song! Way better than the boring Hawaiian old-style theme we've heard all season long  ;D

Spurs might be a bit banged up but so are the Lakers. If they do face each other I still think San Antonio are more than capable of putting them away in 5 or 6 games.
