Look I have no link or anything to support this, but I heard at work that Boston was going to try and trade Big Baby and T.Murphy for Big Al.  I cant find anything on this but is this true?  I am kinda confused on how this would work but im assuming sign and trade.

Did you hear it from some co-worker who kind of pays attention to the Celtics or on the radio?

Even a sign and trade makes this impossible without a lot of additional salary.

Big Baby + Troy Murphy couldn't get us Scalabrine back.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Not sure.  He came into work and said it " Did you here Boston wants to trade Baby and Murphy for Big Al"

I simply said no I didnt hear that but that would be nice.  It was hallway talk so its not long a detailed.

Got home did a search and couldnt find it anywhere,  which then lead me to asking on hear.

That would be an absolute steal if it happened. Cutting a pair of subpar performers for a walking double-double. Which is to say, it probably won't happen.

no way, there is no GM that is that dumb  to give us Big Al for that junk. If we could do it, it would be amazing. We would have Big Al, Delonte, and Jeff Green all back from the KG and Ray trades, and still have KG and Ray.

Rajon Rondo
Avery Bradley
Jeff Green
Clipper's Pick
Al Jefferson

Is that a future worth building around? I have my doubts.

But Al Jefferson could be available as a salary dump possibility. He's really not worth his huge contract, and is injury prone. And is not necessary to Utah's future.

Would probably improve next years chances, so its a definite possibility.

Much more likely than a Chris Paul type deal.

Also he would greatly improve our chances

  • Rondo = Good
Big Al could very well be up for trade now that Utah has the top 3 pick in addition to Favors and Millsap.

That doesn't mean Utah is just going to give him away.  I'd love if it the Celtics could somehow swing a trade for him, though, considering the fact that he provides many of the thing the Celtics desperately need (inside scoring, size, rebounding, youth).
