Have always wanted to see McDyess in Celtics green. Consummate professional, hard worker, and still seemed to have something left in the tank when he announced his retirement. Apocryphally, didn't Ainge show up at his doorstop at midnight at the outset of free agency one year?

I'm sure there are teams that could offer him a more attractive combination of playing time and money, although perhaps not as good a chance at a ring (which he no doubt still covets).

Stay retired -- what is with players nowadays? So darn many of them are talking about making comebacks year(s) after they have already retired. Just leave it alone.

Why do old Knick big men (McDyess, Kurt Thomas, Camby) refuse to retire?

Perhaps they needed a season to rest the joints?

I was happy when PJ Brown did it.

I think that A. They miss it a lot, and B. They're fit enough that once the wear and tear of the season is removed, they suddenly feel much better than they did when they retired.  And C. That sweet, sweet $$
